Using the Fuzz Soft option in new versions

Post by lyndaler »

Bear with me...I did a 'Search' for this issue on Corel site and couldn't find an answer:

I'm still using Version 4 because I use the 'Fuzz Soft' a lot and it's missing in 5.

Edit....Clone.....Presets....Fuzz Soft

Would anyone be able to explain to a geezer retired elementary teacher how to get that 'brush' into newer versions of PSP? Or bring back that brush into the newer versions?

My husband uses the newer versions, but I'm still stuck on 4 because of that issue.

lyndaler,

What does that "Fuzz Soft" effect look like?

I got this in PSPX6 by setting the "Density" of the Clone tool to a low value of "7":

You can see that the cloned image of the cup has a sort of scattered look. Is that close to what you want?

Yes, I think it can be eeeeeasily done...

You're a little fuzzy: Please can you clarify that you mean Version 4 or do you mean X4 (Version 14)?

Hey the Fuzz Soft is one of the standard custom brush heads that come with PSP.

In Version 15 (X5) of PSP you can get this back by downloading extra brush pack from the Corel Guide. In X6 I can't recall if it's already there, or if you have to download the Creative Content pack first.

Either way, in both X5 and X6 it's possible to get this standard brush back. It's also possible, if you wanted to do so, to manually create a backup of the Fuzz Soft brush for safe keeping. But you don''t have to worry about doing this. It's fully available in X6. You just need to register the software and sign up for their free standard membership. Then you can download the Creative Content Pack which should have all the standard brush heads you're used to.

Sorry! Yes, I continue to using X4 because it has Fuzz Soft.
Edit/Clone/Presets/Fuzz Soft
I like the way it has the indeterminate circumference edge, so not only can the density be set, but the eye doesn't look for any complete circle on the photo fix.

I also had trouble understanding what you meant. I clicked Edit on the menu bar and could not find Clone in the drop down list. Then the peny dropped. You meant " In Edit mode (at top) , select Clone brush, and then on the tool bar (it is not in the drop down labelled Presets,) clicking just to the side of the brush type shown you get a drop down showing al of the types of brush types including Fuzz Soft.
It has been a continuing annoyance that the little down arrow there is not always clearly distinguished.

Per-fect! My husband says that's the fix we needed (though I'm currently up to my eyebrows with an aging parent, so I haven't tested it out yet.) I feel goofy not having figured this out. SO glad to have found this site and had you respond so quickly. Many thanks.
