Is it me or am I really seeing that X5 has LESS video encoding options vs X4? Really??? I remember having lots of choices and options as far as how to encode MP4 the size (or ratio, etc 720 vs 1080p)
I can't seem to get 1080p but I can get 720p but in X4 I recall I could do 1080p for MP4 though.
more video options in X4 vs X5?

Re: more video options in X4 vs X5?
Hi
I have just viewed X4 and X5 Share Create Video File – Mpeg4 and both versions are identical
Using X4 and X5 the Mpeg4 HD option gives this template.
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 30 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 15000 Kbps
32000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

Whoops boy did I get myself all turned around; so yes you are right; what I WANTED to do is this:
I have an .mpg video that I thought is MPEG4 or something I don't know; but I do know that MPEG4 takes on several extensions I think? (such as mpeg4, mp4 and mpg)
Here's my problem: LR4 will not import it, but it SAYS that it will; ok here's the ODD thing: LR4 will import the videos that are .MP4 because those are unedited originals and the .mpg were created in VideoStudio X4
I know this isn't Adobe Lightroom help; but since it was created/edited in VS X4 maybe someone can shed some light? I'll have to go over to the Adobe forums for further help at this point. I was just surprised LR4 wouldn't import anything I made in X4 (I now have X5)

Have you tried simply changing the extension from .mpg to .mp4?

should have mentioned that, and yes I did and windows spit out an error saying it can't be opened.Ken Berry wrote:Have you tried simply changing the extension from .mpg to .mp4?
I was hoping to re-render it in MP4 720p but I can't see the option to do it in 720p since that's what my .mpg is at (although I CAN get it to re-render at 1080p its too grainy obviously but it does work.

Re: more video options in X4 vs X5?
You can certainly render an mpeg-4 in 720p in X5: Share > Create Video File > AVCHD -- and the last selection on the drop down menu gives 1280 x 720p at 50/60 full frames per second. You can also get 25/30 full frames per second using Share > Create Video File > Custom, then choosing MPEG Transport Stream as the format option. Then in Options, change the format to AVCHD on the compression tab. Back on the General tab, change the frame size to 1280 x 720 and above that, you can select either 25/30 or 50/60 fps. AVCHD is of course mpeg-4 made using the h.264 codec.I was hoping to re-render it in MP4 720p but I can't see the option to do it in 720p
