Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I am running X6 in Windows 7 Home Premium with 16 gig of ram, and I have to say, I'm not noticing much difference as to the speed of the program when it's running. The material box doesn't come up any quicker than it did in X5, and it takes a little while for the message at the beginning of the script to pop up too. Seems to me that there should be more of a difference than that, hey?

I think that 95% of the people who had been working each other into a frenzy by parroting the "I want 64-bit" chant didn't really understand what benefits it would bring. It's not gonna make the application jet-propelled for everything it does. The real benefit is when working with large images (or .pspimage files with many layers) where accessing >3.xGb of RAM will speed up using brushes, etc., because RAM is a lot faster than using a scratch disk.
That being said, even for normal-sized images it seems like painting, applying effects and so on are quicker and smoother. It's a subtle thing, but there....

Loaded X6 a few days ago....where did all my frames, brushes and tubes go? Also, how do I turn "on" the image size #'s under the tray so I know the image size I am working with? It was on X5? Thank you bunches!

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Have you gone to the Corel.com website, logged into your account, and looked at the Your Products section (top right)? (I assume you registered the product.) There is a link labelled "Downloads for Members and Subscribers". When you check that, there are links to the KPT collection, a scripting guide, and extra content. The extras you are missing are in the latter....where did all my frames, brushes and tubes go?

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
OK, this annoyance has got to stop. It happened with X5, and now with X6 -- about 40% of the time, launching the application freezes at the "Resetting App Preferences":

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I have to use Task Manager to kill the "Application" in order for PSP to load.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
But are others having the same problem, Ken? Personally, my own X6 has never yet stopped opening -- not once. I open mainly the 64 bit version several times a day. I have to add that I don't see the 'Resetting' text when the program is opening, though I acknowledge that a number of text sequences pass so quickly that it is impossible to actually read what they are... I have just tried re-opening X6 3 times, but could not see it (and all 3 opens worked fine)...

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I'm with Ken. So far x6 has been the best of the PSP's so far for loading without issues. I load it several times a day and even the annoying update popup has gone.
I think with 'many' so called PSPx! issues the problems are often system problems rather than PSP problems. But until you ask here you don't know that.
Is it 'your' system with the problem or something that Corel is doing that causes the problem, that is a whole nuther issue.
regards

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I'm not seeing that in either 64 or 32bit versions of X6.LindaSue wrote:Is anyone else getting screen artifacts on the X6 workspace? The border around the workspace area shows whatever is on my Windows desktop behind the PSP window. It's as if that thin border is transparent. It does seem to be an intermittent glitch because it's not always that way. It seems like it happens when I've first opened X6 and eventually goes away after I've opened and closed few images. It happens with both workspace colors but it's more noticeable with the dark scheme.
I just shut down X6 and reopened it and the glitch returned. What you see below is part of this forum around the border of the workspace:
When the glitch goes away, there isn't a contrasting border around the workspace at all.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Although it's informative to see how common this "Resetting App Preferences" problem is, there's no denying that it's real.
If, in fact, anyone from Corel monitors this "Bugs" discussion thread, they need to know that there's a problem. That's why I posted the info. There's no point in us speculating about what settings or conflicts are causing it, since only someone who knows exactly what is supposed to happen with that "Reset the Application" thing can offer insight. Software development has many examples of bugs that only appear under unique and/or obscure circumstances.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I miss the separate context menu item Open With Corel PaintShop Pro X4. Going into the submenu requires four actions instead of two, and requires extra thought, taking my head out of work mode into Windows mode.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
A problem i'm having with X6 but also previous verisons is that if i have cleaned up an image , let's say albumart for music, i can't cut and paste it to another location even if the image is no longer opened in PSP but PSP is still active. I'm forced to close PSP and only then i can transfer the image to another partition.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
A new trouble: both x6-64 and x6-32 crash. Uninstalled/reinstalled, and both crashed.
DL'd the trial version. It works, but I don't see a place to put in my SN. Any clues where to find the place?
Edit: found it as I closed the app. They even have a place to put in your old SN.
