There was a whole discussion about this, the bug seems to be older than X6.
it certainly is.

Oh yeah... It's been there at least since least since X4 (if I remember correctly some update broke it).

The setting is reversed (i.e. 4x4 2x2 2x2 means no chroma subsampling when it should be 1x1 1x1 1x1) and it's bugged in JPEG optimizer and in "save as" window.

I too would like to see the chroma subsampling list order bug fixed. I never save JPEG in 4:2:0 as I consider chroma subsampling to be unjustifiably destructive in many cases.

Have there been any signs anybody at Corel reads this thread?

I can see why you would assume that, most people would. but actually the issue has existed for so long and been reported so many times, updates, version upgrades have come and gone in that time, and there has been no change.

Cross posting this into this 'bug and fixes thread' just cause it seems appropriate.

Concerning the render / redraw bug when zoomed in on an image and moving a floating section around ...

The solution I discovered for this problem was to disable Tabbed Documents. (Window Menu -> Tabbed Documents). With tabbed documents turned off, the on screen corruption goes away.

This. This was the only solution that worked for my chronic spinning cursor. My PSP X6 program is on my SSD and my Library/Pictures are on my HDD. By clicking Clear Cache under Reset Preferences my 64-bit system now finally functions properly... nice long term work-around. Not even sure what that cache function provides?

Disregard, problem has returned... spinning cursor will not go away... one other observation, if I close when the spinning cursor is spinning, I cannot reopen the program unless I close it through Task Manager first.

LindaSue wrote:Is anyone else getting screen artifacts on the X6 workspace? The border around the workspace area shows whatever is on my Windows desktop behind the PSP window. It's as if that thin border is transparent. It does seem to be an intermittent glitch because it's not always that way. It seems like it happens when I've first opened X6 and eventually goes away after I've opened and closed few images. It happens with both workspace colors but it's more noticeable with the dark scheme.

I just shut down X6 and reopened it and the glitch returned. What you see below is part of this forum around the border of the workspace:

When the glitch goes away, there isn't a contrasting border around the workspace at all.
I know this is old, but also have this intermittent issue with X7. I have found that minimizing to the taskbar or clicking the Restore Button next to it, and then maximizing again, usually fixes the problem. I think it has something to do with a maximized PSP with docked toolbars and palettes causing the workspace area to not quite fit on some screens (maybe by a pixel or two), and sometimes it happens when an open image is up against one of the sides or top/bottom of the workspace window. Why resizing PSP fixes the issue (at least temporarily) is something I can't explain.
