Thus it means it can be fixed by editing EXIF information?
I'll so some small program to fix it. Shouldn't be difficult

Resizing faulty image
Another solution is to create a new raster image with dimensions identical to the faulty original but with a resolution you want, say 300 dpi. Select the original, copy, paste as new layer, then merge down. The new image will now have a resolution that resizing can handle.LostSoul wrote:Thus it means it can be fixed by editing EXIF information?I'll so some small program to fix it. Shouldn't be difficult

Button Missing for Adding GPS Map Location Manually
One of the procedures for manual application of a GPS location to an image is to activate the green pin button and then click on the map. That generates a pop-up box for you to confirm the selected location. Here's the way it looks in PSPX5: Note there is an OK button for confirmation.
But here's the way it looks on my system in PSPX6 (both x32 and x64): The confirmation button is missing.

This feature works correctly for me in both versions of X6. I wonder if your problem is related to the scroll bars in your selected photo - how did you manage to get those?

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Mark, thanks for responding. I have the scroll bars by default. I am unable to enlarge the box to eliminate them. If it's working on your Windows system, perhaps it relates to my customization. I'll try going back to the default.MarkZ wrote:Bob:OldRadioGuy wrote:Button Missing for Adding GPS Map Location Manually

That did not work. I then reinstalled X5 and got the same problem there. (Because of its speed, I did not use X5 very often and had not tried to use the map module in that version until now.)OldRadioGuy wrote:Mark, thanks for responding. I have the scroll bars by default. Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Could it possibly be caused by a Windows setting such as your system's font size? Do you have Windows set to display large fonts, perhaps? That's been known to cause this kind of issue in PSP before.OldRadioGuy wrote:

LindaSue, thanks, but I tried that to no effect.LindaSue wrote:

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I am having the following issues with 32bit & 64bit X6 on Windows 8
1. When I try to turn on visibility on a mask layer, it just opens up the mask layer name for editing. It does not turn on the visibility.
2. More often than infrequently, when I click on an Adjust or Effect function that uses a parameter settinngs dialog, it does not show the dialog. It just applies the last used setting.
???

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Are you using sticky keys? Usually it requires hitting a modifier key (Shift, Ctrl, or Alt) 5 times to activate unless you've activated it from the language settings. It's designed to let you hit each key in a shortcut separately instead of all at the same time. I have also found occasionally on my computer it acts like the Shift key is constantly pressed for no reason at all.
PSP has a nice feature that if you hold down the Shift key while selecting a function that produces a dialog it'll skip the dialog and just apply the last used settings.
So when either of those two things happens it's possible for it to interact with PSP. Now sticky keys is less of an issue. You have to press SHIFT once before selecting a filter. If you click anywhere else between hitting SHIFT and selecting the filter then it cancels out the sticky key.
If your computer is like mine and acts like SHIFT is constantly pressed from time to time the fix is to actually hit SHIFT once.
If none of these are your problems....then I have no idea.
You can try resetting the workspace. Entertainingly, this method also deals with the SHIFT key. Close PSP. Then while holding SHIFT open PSP from the desktop. It'll ask you to reset your workspace to factory defaults (so like it was when you first installed) so if anything got corrupted to cause this behavior it'll hopefully fix it.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Not knowingly. Every time I have mistakenly hit one of those keys too many times, I get a dialog asking if I want to turn Sticky Keys on. I always reply with a "No"LeviFiction wrote:Are you using sticky keys?

I'll try the reset...sigh.
Thanks.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I don't know if this is a bug, maybe i'm doing it wrong.
If i make a create a white image (or use any image with clipping highlights) and i do a histogram adjustment of 0.001% it gives the value of 254, if i create a picture with value 254,254,254 and do the same it gives a value of 353. It seems off by 1 value. It has no effect on the picture.
When i copy a picture (Ctrl+C) it sometimes takes a very long time for no apparent reason.
When i crop a picture and choose 'Square' a lot of times it's off by one pixel, i get something like 900x901, very annoying.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Clone tool doesn't line up.
I've had this problem for a long time, if i use the clone brush really small it's hard to get them to line up, every time i move it sideways the 'original' seems to jumps a pixel up or down. It has no effect on the picture, once i start drawing it jumps to the right position.
Last histogram adjustment is not remembered like in previous versions.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
I have downloaded installed the 166MB update (might as well have been a newer release than just an update), and whilst it didn't fixed the issues I mentioned in my last post, it now appears that any image I open that is smaller than the workspace is now automatically resized to fit the workspace, whether it be horizontally or vertically. This means if I open an image 57 x 53 pixels, it shows the view as 100% on the image TAB, but 1025% on the tools options bar. (just below the save/save as, floppy disc icon), and the image is as large as the workspace even though it is so small. I have an image that is 469 x 137 it shows 100% as the size on the image tab, but again, shows 227% on the tools options bar and fills the workspace horizontally. Am I missing something or is this by design? as my partner has now updated to X6 but hasn't installed the update and the images open at the correct size, although large images shrink to fit the workspace as per normal settings.
I uninstalled PSP X6 then re-installed it without selecting to check for updates and the image size was fine, but PSP still downloaded the update again.....and it now wants me to install the update again with no way of saying no, I'm only able to delay it.

Re: PSPx6 Bugs and Fixes
Good point. I have an issue with my HP Laserjet 3600 which is getting long in the tooth but still functions very well.LeviFiction wrote:Go to Canon's website and see if it provides 64-bit drivers fro your scanner. It may just not be compatible with the 32-bit drivers.
I went from Windows 7 and 32 bits to Windows 8.1 and 64 bits. I have not been able to get my printer to work because I cannot find a driver that works. The HP website doesn´t really help much. There appears to be a suitable driver but this fails at the last hurdle with a message "Failed to complete installation". Nothing else.....
I have tried installing a universal driver but this is not recognised by the printer.
I suspect HP has not yet caught up with Windows 8.1 and 64 bits because it is too new (like many other applications/drivers. my IT guys tell me to wait for a while until HP get their act together. In the meantime I keep the old computer (Windows7 and 32 bits) running and use a memory stick whenever I need to print.
Whatta pain!
