OK so I may be a bit slow, but! I've installed PSPx6. Setup my plugins etc. Even got my workspace to load and work! Only thing now that is bugging me is the background colour in the Edit window. I use the dark grey. In x5 the background to a photo in Edit mode matched the dark grey of the UI. Now in x6 it seems I'm stuck with the dark grey UI and a light grey background.
Am I missing something some where or is this option gone?
Apart from that x6 loads in 5-6 seconds. Good. Everything else 'seems' to be faster. (I'm using 64bit). BUT Adjustment layers are still sllllooooowwwwwww.

You can still change the colour:
1. Open an image.
2. Right-click on the edit area's background.
3. Choose your poison:

Thanks. I thought it strange that I would be left with no options.

I hope you didn't load a workspace from a previous version? You need to create a whole new workspace for X6.brucet wrote:OK so I may be a bit slow, but! I've installed PSPx6. Setup my plugins etc. Even got my workspace to load and work!

Re: Background colour in x6
I did have some trouble loading my workspace from x5. x6 didn't like it. So I eventually started over with a new workspace for x6. No big deal for me as it's not that complicated. But my guess is that there will be some more comments to come on this subject.

Re: Background colour in x6
Apparently those on Windows XP, or who don't have a 64-bit system perhaps, only get two workspace color choices. My only choices are Dark Gray and Light Gray. With Dark Gray, everything, including the workspace area, is the same very dark gray. With Light Gray, everything in the workspace is Light Gray. It looks very odd because there is no contrast between many of the toolbars and palettes in a lot places. It looks like everything is blended together seamlessly and I don't care for that look.
Edited: I see now that what Ken was talking about is the background color around an image, not the workspace color. That's only useful if you've got an image maximized in the workspace.

Re: Background colour in x6
I just noticed that playing with the background color fixed a problem that I was having with the interface. Before changing the color, the Minimize, Restore and Close buttons for images were invisible if I had an image maximized in the workspace. I could only just barely see them by hovering my cursor over the area where I knew they should be. Then they would appear in a very pale, nearly invisible, shade of gray. After changing the background color, they are now white or light gray like they should have been all along even if I set the background color back to the original color.
