Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
I just got it to crash for me too. I had to attempt to move the slider a couple of times before it happened. The slider didn't move for me at all. It seemed to be frozen.

LindaSue,
Thanks for confirming this. Sometimes even clicking within the image area will bring on the crash.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
I had found that there was an error in the object extractor in X4 and X5 where if you had an image larger than 3400 pixels on the longest side and tried to extract, it compained that there was not enough memory to do this. Considering that images I used from a Canon 5D MkII were 5616 pixels on longest side it meant that I had to resize them to less than 3400 pixels to be able to extract parts of an image.
With the push to even larger images this is a limitation of this feature that needed to be repaired.
Possibly they tried to repair and so introduced this new crash.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
hartpaul,
Yeah, there's no telling what's going on in there. I've had the crash with images as small as 1,000px x 1,500px.
Since I don't know how to file an official bug report, I'm hoping that someone who does will forward the info to Corel. A patch is urgently needed, as this is a fatal error.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
Following your steps above got it to crash on XP Home SP3. Just before the crash I was notified tha the program was trying to run ....system32/dwwin.exe and when I clicked OK to allow that thats when it crashed.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
I use the 64bit version on Win8 and do not get any crashes whatsover using the Object Extractor. I have used this feature a number of times and never had a problem.
Maybe you should try using the 32bit version in Win7.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
Hi trueblue
Don't want to use 32 bit, the whole reason for trying X6 was to use 64 bit and in any case I can reproduce the problem in both versions. Also I'm obviously not the only one with this problem.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
We have escalated a slider problem in this context, which will be solved with SP 1 as far as we heard.
I work for the Corel UK Support. I will not give technical support through this forum and my answer is only related to this thread.

Re: PSPX6 Object Extractor crashes program
I am having this problem too. While using the "Object Extractor" tool in in PaintShop Pro X6, when I try to use the "Accuracy slider" after clicking "process," it crashes the program - I receive the message "Corel PainShop Pro X6 has stopped working" and I am instructed to "Close program."
This happens whether I am using the 32 bit or 64 bit version of the program.
