Inserting video and retaining titles in original places

I am using VS9 and have virtually completed a project but find that I now need to insert an extra piece of video part way through. When I do this I find that all captions and titles do not move to correspond with the original footage and have to be laboriously moved. Is there any way of inserting video without having to adjust the position of titles etc. ?

Using VS 9 press F1 then search for Ripple Editing

You're finding out about one of the finest of UVS9's new abilities.

You can click on the icon just to the left of the single-reel (Storyboard) icon. That brings up Ripple editing and you can "lock" the positions of items in any part of the Timeline.
