I WANNA UPGRADE!!!

Post by dcrawford8 »

ADMIN:
Please tell me where this topic should be located - I get bounced when I try to put it where I think it should be.....

Yesterday I attempted to upgrade from Studio 14 to Studio 16 - it's been nothing but trouble. Checkout from shopping cart told me 'authentication failed', so I tried another card. Same thing. So I tried my Paypal account - same thing. Called my card company - there should be no problem....

Called Corel - shunted to Digital River--they tried to blame me - I must have entered bad info. And, BTW, there were multiple attempts to upgrade, so we have to review....

OF COURSE there were multiple attempts - YOU told me it failed, thus the next card, then Paypal, etc.

Question : anyone else have similar trouble? How did you resolve it? Is there an email address for Corel customer service that deals with order problems, not Tech support?

It's difficult to know where this should be posted since it is not clear -- at least to me -- which Studio you are talking about: Corel Video Studio X4 and X6 or Pinnacle Studio? If the latter, then you shouldn't post here at all. While Corel took over Pinnacle/Avid, it has retained the original Pinnacle forums at: http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/242/ShowForum.aspx

If however it is Corel Video Studio you are talking about, let me know and I will move this thread to the appropriate forum here.

It's not easy on us customers, either. I own Pinnacle Studio 14, upgraded to Avid Studio, and now discover the Pinnacle Studio 16 upgrade which replaces Avid Studio. Sheesh...

In any event, I really want to get Digital River out of the equation, and be able to upgrade cleanly.

Did you call Corel on 1-877-582-6735 - if not try that.

I do not think you can circumnavigate Digital River if you want to buy online, they are Corels online agents - you may need to go to your local BestBuy or Walmart and purchase a physical copy.

The issue has been resolved - thought I should tell how. Initially called Digital River (long hold times and NO help...) Finally called the Corel store. After explaining the situation (and discussing the multiple 'Digital River Sucks' sites out there :) the rep. cancelled my D.R. transactions and placed the order for me, using all the info I had supplied D.R. I had the upgrade in less than 2 minutes. It appears that Digital River does, indeed, suck.
