Cannot Install Title or Menu Packs

Post by dbz2000 »

Since I last posted this problem, I have reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit to clean up my computer. I was hoping that his issue with the Title Packs Menu packs would also be resolved. The message keeps coming up: "The installed version of application could not be determined. Setup will terminate. System has not been modified".

Hoping I can get some guidance in resolving this issue. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance;

Hi

The message you are seeing is normally related to the installation of the Service Packs
Or rather trying to install the service packs again……

What version of Video Studio are you referring to.

X6 has SP1 to install.

The message should read…”Service Pack already installed”

The problem with the Do More installations is the lack of info, the install window does not identify whats being installed. And if you have downloaded more than one can be confusing

Installing Title Packs
There are 34 titles installed with the program
For each Title Pack installed a further 10 will be added.

How many do you see?

Oh by the way when adding images to the post can you try the Attachment option to the bottom of the post, this will allow viewers to click the image to show a larger view, limited to 256KB file size Cheers

Thanks Trevor for the quick response. The version of VS I am running is VS 16.0.0.106 but it does not say SP1 anywhere. Can I get the service pack from the Corel site? Is there a link to it? I will try to see if I can find it and download and install it now. If I have problems, I will post back to the forum for assistance. When you mention adding graphics to the post, I did use the bottom to add it but I chose inline and I shrunk it down to the size it is to make sure it would be accepted. I see now that I can make it larger and it will still get through. Thanks on all accounts. Be well. :D

Posting back to say all is well. Once I installed the service pack, all of the Title and Menu packs installed without a hitch. Thanks Trevor for the assistance. It is always a pleasure enlisting your wisdom about Corel products. :D

I'm running VideoStudio X7 and I get the "installed version of the application could not be determined" error. This began after I tried to install one of the bonus packs with the "Get more content" button. Now each time I exit the program it tries to install the selected bonus content and fails with the above message. The help menu says I am running the latest version and there are no new updates. What to do?

Hi

The message is when trying to install the Service Pack 1 a second time.

If you have installed SP1 and run the installer again it will show that message.
It is Corels strange way of telling us

Nothing to worry about, and no problem unless it is always trying to install SP1

Go to Help - About --what version is showing there, I see 17.0.0.249 without the sp1

if the number contains a "1" then SP1 is installed

But I can't install any of the "Bonus Packs." Does that mean the version I have already has them installed?

You do not say if the program is always trying to install the Bonus Pack or you are doing that.

The Bonus Content download from the Do-More installs the files to a folder here :-
C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content

The sample clips provided are manually imported to the library

The Font packs install to windows Font folder

The Titles install to the title library an extra 10 per pack.

The Menu packs update the Burner Gallery, one pack for DVD the other installs for Bluray

This is my first try at a forum, so please bare with me. I have VideoStudio Ultimate x7. I got a bonus disk (ProDad) and that install okay. I am now getting a pop up message to install "Corel VideoStudio Bonus Content Pack.
I click on install, and it cannot find the applicattion and then finsh. It keeps popping up each time I open Corel. I'm not sure how to fix this. I'm not sure if I can even find my way back to this forum.

If you down loaded the programme you should have a separate download of an .exe file you just need to 'RUN' (or double click) that

if you have discs you should have a second disk which should self start when you insert it.

Hi maxiblue

I assume you have visited the Corel Guide – Do More and selected the Bonus Content pack.

The downloaded file (VS_Bonus.exe) is saved here :- C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads, the folder structure is hidden you will have to set Show Hidden Files and Folders from a folders tool – view menu.
The folders have numeric names, that does not make it easy to find their content.

The Bonus Content folder will be installed to here:- C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content

Whilst installing the exe, files are extracted and saved to the temp folder %temp%
Corel VideoStudio Bonus Content Pack, Its these files that install the bonus pack.

It appears in your case that the installer cannot find these files, maybe the temp folder has been purged, its files deleted.?
I don’t know why that should be?

Run the (VS_Bonus.exe) again then try to install immediately
Right click and run as Administrator

If the problem persists delete the downloaded folder from :- C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads
As I said will have a numeric name similar to (1350939459960)
Then delete the contents from the %temp% folder.

If you wish try to download again from the Do-More
