Aftershot Pro - Linux Mint 15 - no printer available
After installing ASP in Linux Mint 15, the printer dialog in the batch process is always greyed out ("No Printer available"), although a printer (Canon Pixma iP 6700) is installed to the system. That printer appears in any other program like GIMP etc., ...except ASP. There is no way for me to solve this problem, since a few days. With Linux Mint 14 it all worked fine. Is there anybody with the same problem?

Re: Aftershot Pro - Linux Mint 15 - no printer available
I think it was mentioned here already (try the search function), but AS needs some legacy printcap file or so to detect printers.
Sorry, memory is hazy so I don't have the details ready.
cheers

Re: Aftershot Pro - Linux Mint 15 - no printer available
Thank you very much for your tip. Is that tricky! Corel's help or doku never gave that information. I had to create a symbolic link from /etc/printcap to /var/run/cups/printcap. On contrary to Linux Mint 14 the CUPS configuration of Linux Mint 15 didn't do it. It is true: printcap is a remainder of BSD print system. My little bit knowledge of Linux since a few years helped me out.

Re: Aftershot Pro - Linux Mint 15 - no printer available
I know this is an old thread but thank you for this information. I'm running on ubuntu 12.04 LTS and creating the symbolic link fixed it for me to. Just in case someone else is looking for how to do this the exact command I used is:
"sudo ln -s /var/run/cups/printcap /etc/printcap"
I hope the package maintainers will look at implementing this in the .deb package. I think it should support Ubuntu 12.04 LTS out of the box.
Cheers and keep up the Linux support!
