SAVING PICTURES USING PAINTSHOP PRO X5

Post by hatsoff »

Hi all,
Have not been here in a while.
I'm currently using PaintShop Pro x5 and have a problem with the results of a save as.
When I do a save as and put the picture in a folder, the item being saved does not come up. Instead I get a sheet of paper in gray with a color picture with a camare on top of the picture along with my title of the picture.
Why does this happen and why doesen't the picture that is saved is not showing up.
When I try to copy or drag the picture that I described here does not come up, but pictrue launches PSPX5.

I assume you are talking about a thumbnail of the picture, but could you confirm? And could you also tell us whether you are talking about the thumbnail appearing in a Windows Explorer/[My] Computer folder or in a folder in the X5 environment (I am assuming not the latter since you talk about the 'picture' launching X5 when you drag and drop).

Have you associated the extension used by the pictures (e.g. .jpg, .png etc) with PSP in Windows file associations?

I suspect you are saving the image as a psp file rather than as a jpg. Load an image, then do a save as and underneath the file name in the Save as Type make sure that says jpg. You can save the same file as different types and then see how each is displayed on your system.

I've hit the same issue. I forget now how I fixed the problem but I'm sure it was in Windows. If I remember correctly you have to set Windows to accept PSP files.
Someone else may be more detailed than me. It's an age thing!!!!!!
