Hi guys,
im trying to edit video (local car racing) that I have recorded from my GOPRO's (hero 3 Black) @ 1080p 60fps,
when I go picture in picture. now when I try to line them up so they are sync'd when I play back project the video becomes glitchy like its skipping frames.
I have had enabled 50/60p editing
ive gone into project properties and tried both ntsc and pal in 60fps and @ 1920x1080p frame size. I noticed I couldn't change mpeg (pal). it was at 25fps.. and gopro records in Mpeg..
what can I do to retain the 60fps quality..
thanks

Re: editing projects become glitchy on playback
I too have a Hero 3 Black Edition. Just to be clear, it records in AVCHD mpeg-4, and on the 60 fps setting mine appears to use a max bitrate of 29999 kbps which is a bit above the international standard for AVCHD.
Unfortunately, you cannot set Project Properties to emulate AVCHD properties. We have complained to Corel about this for several years now, to no avail. So in effect, you just forget about Project Properties (unless you are wanting to take a high quality screen shot, but that is another subject).
For most of my Hero editing, if I want output in exactly the same format and quality as the original, I ensure the first clip in the timeline is from the Hero (if I am mixing it with other footage). Then I use Share > Create Video File > Same As First Clip. This then uses SmartRender and quickly produces a new video with all the Properties of the original. Have you tried that?
Using Same As Project Properties is no good as it simply uses standard def mpeg-2 properties. And unfortunately, you cannot make a Custom template (Settings > Make Movie Templates Manager) using the Add function as it will not recognise 50/60p as a valid format!
Otherwise, you can use Share > Create Video File > AVCHD choosing 1920 x 1080 50/60p option. But there you have to accept a slight quality hit as it uses a max bitrate of only 20000 kbps. The resulting footage nevertheless looks pretty good on a large screen HDTV.

Re: editing projects become glitchy on playback
Yea I figured so.
It is fine if I play the one clip but as soon as its P n P it's turns to poo
the only reason I record in 1080p is to stop the warping of the video as the cars get into speed..
I have tried to convert it down to 1080p 29fps and then edit the files and that seems to be fine. Just double handling in my eyes...
