Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
That is an excellent idea. Be sure to give exact names, of programs, selections, etc.

Hi Bendgee
I have been away for a few days so could not reply….
I really think you are successfully burning a DVD.
Certainly the info you give of the files on disc appear to be correct.
I asked in an earlier post if you were able to play the disc on another DVD Player, maybe a friends.
Are you always using the same DVD Player, cos if that’s faulty then there lies your problem.

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0 .BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1 .VOB
VTS_01_2_.VOB
It is missing the VTS_01_0.VOB file unless Bendgee just made a listing error

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Canuck and all supporting People who have offered help.
As you suggested Here is how I created and burnt a short video.
Step 1: I opened Corel Video x5 and selected a new Project (top L.H.Corner).
Step 2 Under the CAPTURE heading I clicked on IMPORT DIGITAL MEDIA. I opened library selected a picture FOLDER
and from there I chose 4 PHOTOS I could use, then selected start Import.
Step 3: When pictures appeared I selected EDIT heading and chose the story book view to arrange the order that I wanted.
Step 4 : After they positioned where I wanted I switched back to the Time line view.
Step 5: I selected a Title from the program and changed the wording then moved it to the TITLE LINE.
step 6: I selected each photo from the time line selected CUSTOM PAN & ZOOM the way I wanted -- played and accepted it.
Step7: Now I selected the SHARE heading did not add CHAPTERS I checked Disc space ,burner drive etc. (seemed OK)
Step 8: I chose CREATE menu , placed it in the front of Video and reviewed it (Ok)
Step 9: I selected BURN and let it do its thing till it ejected the DVD-W DISC. I then saved and exited the Program.
Step 10: I installed the disc in my ;D drive to view . When drive opened I double clicked on D:line to expose VIDEO_Folder
it had 6 files They read as: VIDEO_TS .BUP
VIDEO_TS .IFO
VIDEO_TS .VOB
VTS_01_0 .BUP
VTS_01_0 .IFO
VTS_01_1 .VOB I played the video on the computer it played OK.
I put the disc in the DVD Player it tried to load it for a while then stated BAD DISC why I don't know.
WHAT COULD BE WRONG ? BENDGEE

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
,And again no VTS_01_0.VOB... I wonder why?
Can you also explain what you mean when you said
Can you also explain what you mean when you said
In particular I would like to know what you mean by placing the menu "in the front of the Video"... Did you take any particular steps to do that? Did you by any chance choose the option to play the first clip before ("in front of") the menu?I chose Create menu, placed it in the front of Video

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Ken, I just duplicated what Bendgee did using 4 photos and burned to a Video_TS folder. I get the same structure as Bendgee did: no VTS_01_0.VOB file.Ken Berry wrote:,And again no VTS_01_0.VOB... I wonder why?

All DVDs I have created all have a VTS_01_0.VOB file. The only difference between this project and all my previous projects is that in this project there is no vob file > 1GB

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Hi
As far as I know the VTS_01_0.VOB is running the menu structure
The first five in Bendgee’s list, there are two BUP two IFO and one Vob, the vob runs the menu
The last two are the main movie they are both vob, the first will be 1Gb the last a little lower to complete the disc.
His dvd is less than 2 Gb and only needs two main vob files
I still do not see anything wrong with those details. Maybe I am missing something.
I’ll burn another disc to test the process again.
Bendgee not viewing the files extensions is not helping?????
I do wish Bendgee would say if he has tried other DVD Players.

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Hi
I have created an ISO file and burned a DVD to DVD-RW type disc.
The disc plays ok on my DVD Player. It has several images from the library, sound on menu but not on movie.
Very short movie.......
I have uploaded the ISO to my skydrive account called “bendgee dvd ntsc.iso” you can download from this link.
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=5 ... m4ntbzJhz8
Save the file to a folder on your hard drive.
Using VLC Media Player you can play this file as playing a DVD
To burn a disc use Tools – Burn From Disc Image ISO, you will see the panel below.
Browse your hard drive to locate the “bendgee dvd ntsc.iso” file
Let us know if you are able to burn the disc and play on your DVD Player.

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
For lATA & KEN Berry.
I wish to thank you both and all who offered assistance when I was trying to obtain help for burning a video disc that would work on a external DVD PLAYER. Sorry that I did not continue communicating till the problem was resolved but I figured that I had already taken so much of your time.
I am here to tell you that I continued working on this and have discovered what was the problem.
As suggested by you I was burning the Disc O.K. I would put them into my dvd player to verify a the burn MY dvd player would some how damage the disc and it would not work on any DVD Player after that.
My DVD player was less than a year old so I did not suspect it to be the problem. I purchased a new player -- PROBLEM SOLVED.
Thanks for the help you gave me , talk to you again Bendgee
