Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
It is probably something with my program or WHAT I have done. By reading and reading and by what you have told me I cannot see anything that I have done wrong BUT IT DOES NOT WORK.
I created a video installed it on the timeline Saved it as (title) and file vsp. With it on the timeline I double clicked it and selected multimedia trimming .After removing some duplications I watched it and was satisfied . I saved again as a vsp file. I went to share section installed a new DVD-W disc and selected BURN .It burnt the disc (successfully it states .Now I have a file called PRJ 20130819 IT SAYS FILE SYSTEM UDF, ??? The disc plays great on the computer but states (Bad Disc everywhere else)
I only used CorelVideoStudioPro program Bendgee

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
We have asked several times, and you still have not answered: what is ON the disc? With the disc in your computer DVD drive, in Windows Explorer/[My] Computer, navigate to that drive and look at the disc. Does it have two folders on it -- one called Audio_TS and the other Video_TS?

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Ken This is what I found : This is long but I truly need HELP and Advise.
I did as you suggested ,put the DVD in the computer This what it shows.
DVDRW Drive (D:) PRJ_2013089 2.54 GB free of 4.38 GB. there is 1 file called VIDEO_TS. I selected OPEN.
There are 7 files
Fist File ( has Real Player sign) says VIDEO_TS 19/08/2013 BUP 32 KB (when I try to open it states need update )
Second File (has Media Player sign VIDEO_ TS 19/08/2013 IOF 32 KB (when I open it video plays but not complete)
Third File (has Adobe Reader sign VIDEO_TS 19/08/2013 Document (when I try to open it states cannot read Decoded
WRONG came from e-mail ???
should be removed I think.
Fourth File (Real Player sign ) 19/08 /2013 BUP 64 KB ( it states needs update same as above.
Fifth File (Media Player sign ) VTS_0Q1_01 '' IFO 64 KB (when I 0pen it Video plays.9
Six and Seven Files are the same (PFD signs) VTS_01_01 Adobe DOC (won't open)
VTS_01_02 Adobe DOC ( won't open)
I imagine most of these files are wrong and should be removed (Awaiting your advise) why they are there ?????
There is no SIGN anywhere of Studio Video x5 pro This got me thinking .
I went to Programs and Features and looked at Corel Video Studio Ultimate x5 (I Originally had X4 and upgraded to X5 )
X5 states Version 1.41 GB 15.2.0.10.
I Went to Default Programs -- NO COREL X5 ???
I then went to all programs and clicked on Corel Studio XP clicked Properties under General it reads as follows:
SIZE 2.09KB Size on Disc 8.00 KB Contains 2 files Created Feb -02-13 it is Marked READ ONLY
Sorry this is so long but I just want this to work properly for me. Bendgee

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
This is getting stranger and stranger...!!
Something sounds very strange with the way Windows is reading those files on the computer.
First off, Video_TS is not a "file" -- it is a folder. A folder contains files.
Now the files you list in that folder are a bit of a muddle. First off, a normal Video_TS folder on a video DVD contains files which use the .vob, .ifo (information) and .bup (backup) extension. The .vob files are in fact the main video files, and are just DVD-compatible mpeg-2 files with slightly different internal tags.
Your disc obviously has the .ifo and .bup files. And their names sound about right -- though I assume that your reference to one being IOF is a typo for IFO??
But it is your files six and seven which are the cause for concern. VTS_01_01 and VTS_01_02 should be VTS_01_01.vob and VTS_01_02.vob and definitely NOT be showing an extension .DOC. They are video files, as I said above. In fact, as far as I am aware, Video Studio simply cannot create a file using the .doc extension. My suspicion is that your computer has set some strange file associations for these vob extensions.
First off, go to Control Panel > Default Programs. Do NOT, however, choose "Set Your Default Programs". Instead, choose the next option: "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program". It will take a little while to fille the page with all the relevant extensions, but when it does, down towards the bottom there should be an entry for ".vob". If so, what is the program associated with it? If it is either Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word, then you need to click on the "Change Program" button to the top right of the list of extensions. Select one of your video viewing programs as the default program e.g. Windows Media Player.
You might also want to check in Windows Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer). Click on Organize. Then in the drop down menu click on Folder and Search Optons. In the new box which appears, click on the View tab (the middle one), and go down the list a little way and untick the box beside "Hide extensions for known file types" if it is ticked.
When do both these things, look at the DVD structure again. Have the files shown as being DOC files changed to show they use a .vob extension?
Get back to me when you have done these things, and we will try to take things on from there.

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Hi Ken
I do not think there is anything wrong with that disk.
As you say Ken the problem of reading the files is the computer systems file associations are wrong, and as you mention to the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is hiding the actual extensions. The adobe reference will be showing in the Type column.
Bengee---If you change this option, take care when re-naming files as you are allowed to change the extensions.
Below is what I see given that the VOB’s are associated with VCL Player
Bengee
You seem to be burning a disc correctly, I assume using a DVD-RW.
Those types are re-writable and can be used again.
Some DVD Players cannot play DVD-RW type disc.
Can you check your DVD Player to see what type of disc it supports.
Maybe burn a video to DVD – R or DVD + R
Can you give information on your DVD Player Make and Model, serial number if possible.

Ken & lata
I received the latest post and have done as you suggested in the Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program the entry for .VOB was Adobe Acrobat Document--current default Acrobat Reader. I changed it to Windows Media Player.
I checked Widows Explorer--Organize--View and found Hide extensions for known file types is not checked .
I went back and looked at the Disc structure I still have seven but the last two VST_01_01 and VTS 01_02 are both marked with media player now.
This Program I purchase it by phone from Corel --ORDER #161288625 on the 26 of Dec 2012 it was shipped to me by FedEx and I installed it.
Look like you are on the track what is next Bendgee

Can you now answer lata's other question about your DVD player:
Can you give information on your DVD Player Make and Model, serial number if possible.

Does the DVD play when you double-click the Video_TS.IFo file?

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Ken there 2 more files in the VIDEO FOLDER they have a REALPLAYER sign and are named VIDEO_TS --AND --VIDEO _TS_0 --- Both these are marked as BUP files. Should those be removed and if so how?
Any thing else you need Bendgee is getting excited maybe YOU can get me out of my problem?

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Do not ever remove any files from Video_TS folder. Also when listing the filenames give the full names including extensions.bendgee wrote:Ken there 2 more files in the VIDEO FOLDER they have a REALPLAYER sign and are named VIDEO_TS --AND --VIDEO _TS_0 --- Both these are marked as BUP files. If a Video_TS_0 shows in the folder listing then you have the "hide file extensions" enabled, please disable that option so that Windows Explorer show the complete file name.
Files names with extensions, ifo, bup and vob are all required (in the Video_TS folder for the DVD to be a proper DVD).
The ifo files list information about your video file on the DVD such as how many titles, chapters and where they are located on the DVD. The files with the bup extension are simply backups of the ifo files. The files with vob extensions are the actual video files.

Re: still cannot burn viewable dvd
Hi Bengee
I could not find any details of the ONN player given the details you provided, but clearly you state it plays DVD+RW types.
Yes try burning the disc again, but first format the disc to make sure it is empty before trying to burn the disc.
Otherwise …..
Can you try another type of disc.
Use a DVD-R or DVD + R
