PSPX5 Crashes at End of a Scan

PSPX5 Crashes at End of a Scan
I've got PSPX5, Win8 Pro 64bit and a Canon 922. When I try to scan, I can preview, but when I hit the scan button, it appears to finish the scan (green bar all the way) and then the program crashes and I get the error message that the program is being shut down: "Corel PaintShop Pro X5 has stopped working.". This happens on two identical computers that I just built. The same scan screen works just fine through Canon's My Image Garden. And, it works just from this printer accessing with an Older Win7 machine using PSPX4. I've installed SP2, but that didn't help. And, I've already uninstalled PSPX5 and reinstalled, but no joy. Help?
