Corel Video Studio Pro X5 starting problem

Hello.
I installed Corel Video Pro x5 and worked a few month with it. Yesterday I started it and an Error came:

"The problem detected an Error. please contact the technical support from Corel and send us the dump-file"
Where is my dump file ?
I was on corel.com but i don't find a technical support.
Any ideas how I can fix my Video Studio. I need an answer urgently.

Sry that information doesn't help me. The technical support is so user-unfriendly. I need help very urgently because i need the program for a project.

Hi

Have you searched the Knowledge Base for any relevant info.
There is a link at the top of this post.

Have you tried re-installing the program :?: first I found some info to reset the program

Manually resetting Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 to its Factory Default Setting

Still the same error. I re-installed it 3 times but nothing happened.

Hi

You mentioned re-installing, did you install as administrator,
I assume you also re-set the program as link details?

Have you updated or installed any extra drivers to your pc.

Not sure what to suggest but try

1 / Running the program as administrator.
Right click the VS icon on desktop and choose Run as Administrator

2 / Run in XP Compatibility mode
Right click icon and choose Properties—Compatibility tab—choose XP mode

3 / try a system restore to before the problem started?

I tryed everything. I run the program as Administrator. I tried everything on the knowledge-base.
tryed as running wiht compatibility with XP and so on.
Still the same error....

Hi

Have you registered the program, I recall a similar issue where the program ran ok after registering.
Did not understand that at all as I thought it should run without registration.

Go to the Corel site and log-into your account to view your registered products.

Otherwise
Try downloading the trial Version of Video Studio X6
If that works at least you will be able to complete your projects, having a 30 day trial.

Ok i registered the programme.
I started Corel Video studio and the error was away. Another problem is, that the program still not running.
I have the red little window with the objective (the loading-screen before the programme) and it stayed on my
desktop for an half hour. It doesn't start anymore.

Strange that it does not start.

tried it again after re-install. I'm so pissed. It doesn't work.
It's just the "loading screen". Nothing else

Hi Duckyduck

I noticed you are in Germany, don’t know if installing the program in another language has any bearing, but there was another poster with a similar problem also from Germany, don’t think we ever sorted that one. Besides he was not willing to contact Corel given that you have to pay.
I will do a search for that particular post to see if bears any resemblance to what you are experiencing.
As far as I remember during clean start a new folder 15.0 is created within this folder is a Cache folder this folder never created correctly, and the start process just hung.

However Corel now have a facebook account, as far as I know do reply to your questions.

Just a thought,, right click the desktop icon and Run as Administrator, see if that makes a difference.
First delete / rename C:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0

So 15.0 is re-created.

As I say contacting Corel via Facebook may be the way to go.

Hi

Ok I have done a little more digging and found some details relating to Microsoft.net framework 4. The grey matter also recalls a post relating to this, and possibly uninstalling the update. I guess I will find it eventually.

There is an article relating to X4, sure there may be something for X5.
This may be worth a read.
