V 1.2.07: ASP crash when doing nothing

Post by rgraf »

Dear all,

does someone experience the same issue. that ASP, when opened and directed to a folder with ~ 275 JPG images (from a Panasonic TZ5), starts creating the thumbs and crashes after some time.
Same behaviour when exporting modified JPGs ... after 130 from 275 images ASP crashes.
This behaviour did not occur with the provious version.

Just tired again to export the above mentioned JPGs and after image 65 I receive a strange error popup (for the first time):
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
R6025
- pure virtual function call

I posted a bugreport at the monkey - however their file uploader link seems to be broken.

Best regards
Reinhold

Hi,

- Clear the Cache

Me helps to turn OpenCL on and off. Sometimes it must be on sometimes off. Sometimes i had too turn up the OpenCL Level up and down. No fix, but if you need the pics...

Thanks Trucks,

cleared the cache but it didn't help much, besides ASP did not already crash during thumbs creation :)

Either switching OpenCL on or off, ASP however crashed when I export the 275 images.
To cross check, I also deactivated all addins via the addin manager and restarted ASP, but it didn't help either.

There is nothing special with these images ... just simple JPGs and my hardware should fit all the needs with Intel I7, 16G RAM, Win7/64Bit, etc.

Yesterday I was interrupted while culling images. AS sat idle for at least 10 minutes.
When I finally returned to AS I just tried to switch to a new Image which resulted in a non-responsive AS.

cheers

Could you explain how to clear the Cache manually please?

Thanks,

Check Help->System Info
The cache is in the user home directory.

I was getting frequent freezes (not responding) while editing rapidly though several images. I found that PS CC had installed a startup program creativecloud.exe that continued to run all the time. After I killed the process the freezes stopped. (I then disabled the autostart.)

Could be some other process interfering as well.
