Can't add images.

Can't add images.
Everytime I try to add an image I get a message saying that there is a format mismatch (see screenshot). This is strange because when I first installed it, everything was working fine. This applyes to the following image types JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP. I have done some searching and confirmed that I am not the only one who has experienced this. However I have not been able to find a solution. Please help!

If you have found others with the same problem could you post the relevant links, then we wont cover the same ground again.
I had a problem using a Lenovo LapTop, one of the problems being inserting Jpeg images.
The problem related to my Graphics Card Driver
