Mpeg 4 settings VS Mpeg 2

Post by toad »

Hi

I've been reading about different settings to burn my DVDs at.

In VS9 they play fine on my Philips player but not on my Samsung.

Everything I burned in VS8 played fine on the Samsung. I'm going crazy trying to figure out what settings I need to change in VS9 so they will play on the Samsung. :? The Samsung I have says it plays DVD/VCD/CD/CD-R/MPG/VHS/S-VHS

I've tried a couple of times with no luck.

Assuming the VS9 is set up to burn Mpeg 4 and thats why they're not playing on the Samsung.

Any suggestion on what I need to change :?:
Thanks

UVS 9 doesn't support MPEG4 without the plugin, and even if it did, the output would not be compatible with the DVD standard.

Something else is going on here, most likely a media or format incompatibility. Have you looked up your Samsung DVD player in VideoHelp's DVD Player Database to see if the media you are using is compatible?

Could it be as simple as the player only excepting R- but not R+ :?:

I haven't tried that yet.

Thanks I just assumed that VS9 may have been set up to burn in Mpeg 4. My daddy always told me not to *** - u - me anything.

Thanks again for the heads up.

It's entirely possible -- enter your Samsung DVD player model into the search feature of the database on VideoHelp, that should tell you.

Also be aware that even though a device may be designed to accept a specific media type, it may not be compatible with all brands and disk speeds because of differences in dye composition.
