What is the best format in which to save completed videos? Often when I go back to an old video, I get the "some files did not link properly" message. How can I prevent this?

The message gives me the impression that you are not saving complete videos but are actually saving .vsp files - is that correct - if so you MUST save all the files used in that .vsp with it because if it is calling for files that were somewhere else on your computer when the project was created and have since been moved or deleted then VideoStudio will not find them without help from you.
if that is not the case can you tell us exactly what you save and how

Brian:
That is my question. To save them in a format for long term storage where I don't have to worry about the elements being moved or deleted, do I save it as "Create Video File", or something else? I don't really understand the different methods for "sharing".

What is the .iso file that is created under "Create disk image", and what happens under the "Create DVD folder"? When I try to go back to those files, I get a Video_TS folder and an Audio_TS folder, but in every case they are shown to be empty and Videostudio Pro doesn't seem to be able to do anything with them.

Re: Best wayn to save videos for long term backup
Hi Robert
Once you have completed the editing the project should be converted/rendered to your final output video using Share Create Video File
What you choose here will depend on the original video files and indeed what you wish to make.
Can you give us some further info regarding your video files, right click a clip in the timeline and select properties. What are they?
Then tell us whether you intend to burn a DVD or save for the internet, YouTube etc.
The option Same as First Video Clip, "if available" may be your best choice, that will use the properties of the original retaining the optimum quality.
But we need to know the details regarding your original files.

Re: Best wayn to save videos for long term backup
Hi Robert
Missed that quick post
The DVD Folder TS Folder contains the full files required to burn a disc menu and all.
The Audio_TS is redundant and will be empty, ignore that folder.
You need a third party program to burn these files to disc.
The ISO is a Disc Image file, think of it as a zipped DVD Folder, again contains all files that a disc would have.
You can use VS 5 and VS 6 to burn the ISO to disc.
You can use VLC Media Player to play the ISO to test the quality of the movie before burning to disc. Using this approach will save those coasters.
Some users prefer the TS approach, I have always used the ISO method.
