VS ProX6 audio noise

Post by DaisyK »

I had been using the X3 version of VS but very unhappy with disc menu creation and burning mess. Someone told me the later version had been much improved. So I downloaded the trial version of the X6 and was very pleased to find they had included the old menu creation process I was used to. Upon editing of my video I find that there is an audio background humming included that spoils the video. In the edits where I split the audio and replaced with background music there is no audio noise. Very disappointing! Installed on my laptop with same results.

So I opened the same video file from before the edit in the X3 version with same result.
Opened a previously recorded and unedited video file (which did give me excellent results when I had rendered it earlier) and found the same results in both software versions.

So... It wasn't the new video recording and it wasn't better in older version of software so something must have happened during installation on both computers which altered the effectiveness of the X3 version. I didn't have noise problems with X3 before the trial version of X6 was installed. Suggestions? I really like this version if this can be corrected.

No one else has this problem with the background noise using X6? It must have changed something on my computer because now the earlier version also contains this hum. Is there anything I can try to get rid of this?

I have not had any problem with background noise from X6. I cannot see that a video editor would create noise so I suspect a problem with your PC.
You could try applying an audio filter to the split audio.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

thanks for your reply. I think there must have been a setting that got changed on my computer when I installed? But then again when I split the audio for part of the file and replaced with some background music for a certain segment there was no noise. Just clear quality sound. I am baffled!! I left the Pro X3 on my computer as well. Could that have anything to do with it? That version also has noise now... But I love the menu editing and burning options once again.
