VideoStudio PRo X6 WILL NOT INSTALL!

Hello, I have Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I recently bought Video Studio Pro X6. I previously had Ulead videostudio 11. When I try to install VideoStudio Pro X6 it tries to install directX and then it goes to a new window saying,

Installation wizard not completed,

Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the Wizard.

Nevermind, I reformatted my computer a second time and installed Videostudio first and it installed.

I know this is an older post, but I thought I would research before I posted. I am having this same error, however I've not had any previous version of Video Studio installed.

There is/have been issues with install related to a Browser Manager and Browser Protect

Sorry you are having problems installing Video Studio. I have to say that we do seem to be having our fare share of reports like these.

I would advise that you contact Corel support to report this problem, the more people that do the more Corel may listen.
Corel also have a Facebook account, I know some users have had success using that.

1 / Make sure that your windows auto updates are current.

2 / Some problems have been overcome by creating a New User account on your pc
Try installing VS using that account, if successful the account can be removed.

3 / do a search of the Corel Knowledge Base for known issues

Hi Mullins and greetings once again Trevor.

I had this problem for about a month with VS X6. Corel support didn't figure it out until I arrived at the 3rd level. In the end it was my problem. The problem was (though I clean out junk continually) I had a browser "add on" which, though disabled, was interfering with the install of my program. It was actually the function but seemed to be the install.

If you have junk apps which have inadvertently downloaded along with useful stuff, they may "hook" your browser and for what ever reason, mess with VideoStudio. Heads up: If this is the case you'll have to go into "control panel/ uninstall" to root out all possible culprits and remove them. It's also prudent to go to "regedit" and remove all traces of your last attempted install.

If you've done this before you'll understand why I'm saying "don't do this unless you've done this before". Corel support can tell you what to look for in "regedit". If, in "uninstall" you see browser tool bars or add ons you don't use (such as "best price on the web" stuff) get rid of it on principal... it may be the problem. In my case, I kept a few "majors" like Bing and Google even though I only use one.... they're not likely to give you a problem. Talk to Corel support... but I hope the heads up helps.

Thanks for the reply and info regarding your particular problem.
Seems that it is not only the Browser Manager’s that is causing the problem.
I will keep this in mind and advise others to be thorough in their searches.

which did take a bit of finding on the Knowledge Base

Got it to install. Contacted Corel support directly and they emailed me some steps to take, not sure if it was a single step, or a combination of them, but it allowed me to install the program.

Brilliant, the solution to create another user and install it under the new user WORKED, thank you
The new user had admin rights but was not "the" hidden administrator of the computer.

Obviously, makesure the files you need to install will be available under the new user, e.g. not in a restricted "my documents" folder.
I have now deleted this new user, all works fine.
