An unhandled win32 exception occurred in vstudio.exe [7416].

Hi:
I am getting this error on start up of Video Studio X4
I uninstalled the software and re installed a few times with same result.
I have other Corel Products that work fine, like paintshop pro X4 and After Shot Pro.

I had a few months without using the software, but lately I open it up to get ready to a project I am about to make soon
and got the suprise of getting this error.

I did install a few weeks ago some other software like Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and some others
have no idea if this big softwares have anything to do with this happening.

I appreciate any Ideas.

Thanks, for the tip, well I did the updates and now the code change to [5792]
is there like a table that shows what those mean?

OK; more information, I try to launch the program a few times and every time it tells me that something went
wrong that Windows had to stop the program ; if I want to Debug the issue it gives me a different number in the brackets after 3 attempts more
it gave me these other numbers: [7900] [6432] [7556]

Unfortunately I do not know of any list showing what those numbers mean and I have never seen any reference on here to such a list - I do not think any of us know what the numbers indicate.

If you just did an uninstall using the standard Windows 'remove programme' option we do know that that does not remove all files installed and it has been known for the files remaining to cause problems and it might be worth doing a full manual uninstall using the procedure recommended by Corel.

Hi,

Thank you for your help, well i did the remove; with the cleaner, re install again, got the same result.
now there is something interesting, I wasn't able to Install SP1, it told me that it couldn't install the
service pack since it couldn't determine the version installed.

SP2 and SP3 did install correctly, I am wondering if when I update to X6 if it would install?
appreciate any other idea.

The message that the update pack could not determine the version number is Corel's very strange way of informing you that SP1 was already installed - maybe it came in the download.

Brian is correct the SP1 is contained within the X4 download file, Corel included this just after providing SP1, first time I have known them to do that with a service pack?

Have you tried running the program in XP compatibility mode.

Thank you for the advice, let me try that maybe as a work around, I still face the issue, let me try to run it on XP mode.

since I had to reinstall the software sevarl times I lost the plugins like " proDAD Mercalli SE " can anyone tell me how to get it back?
I dont think I did a back up of it the day I install it.

I think the only fix would be doing a "factory restore" on the system but I can't do that right now since I am working Photos with After Shot and
PSP X4, maybe next week when I am done and back up everything.

something interesting is that I downloaded the trial of X6, when I try to run it I doesnt run, but If I invoke the Screen Recorder then it launches the VS X6
and it looks it runs Ok. But I I click on the Orange Down arrow to like do downloads and connect with Corel then it crashes and gives me the same errors I am
facing right now.


I apprecite If someone can tell me how to get the "proDAD Mercalli SE" again, I remember the first time I try to get it I had to email CS several times, I should have back up that software. Appreciate your help.

It does appear to be a problem with your pc given that X6 is showing similar problems, I assume you did you check out the link regarding the Internet Browser issue?????

The extra software provided with the Ultimate version came as a separate file, assuming you downloaded the program, otherwise a separate disc.

Aptly named “VSX5_Ultimate_Bonus.exe” at approx 385 MB.

Search your pc for this file, if you do not find it.
Login to your Corel account to see if the download link is still active, otherwise Contact Corel Support maybe they will provide a new link?

Well I try to contact Customer Support but I guess I got lost or it would cost me money getting some help.
can someone tell me how to reach someone that can send me a link to download the “VSX5_Ultimate_Bonus.exe” at approx 385 MB.
or "VSX4" to get the proDAD Mercalli SE I can see the software for me to download on my orders, but the plug ins are not
there.
