fabulousbaker, who are you?

Post by erock1 »

No disrespect intended, but who are you that you've become this forum's moderator? Your profile shows you joined in 12/04 and since that time you have contributed only 1 time regarding importing DVD content in VS. So why you?

Again, I do not mean or intend to be rude and certainly I do not wish to insult anyone, it just seems to me that there a few individuals that are always on this forum offering their time, energy and real wisdom to VS users, who IMHO, should certainly be made its mod.

Erock

Have you considered that Ulead might want someone working for the company or affiliated with it to moderate? We all know that even though Ulead and its employees rarely respond here, they certainly monitor these forums.

Forget Ulead. Hey! Let’s exchange a few receipts; I got a great one for Banana Nut Bread, what have you got?

Well, I would be the first to admit that EVERYBODY can change. So perhaps having a Ulead-connected moderator shows that the Ulead connection will improve. It is an area that needed improvement. Welcome, fabulousbaker!

I agree whole heartedly, closer and more Ulead support is certainly welcome. I only doubt this because of fabulousbaker's profile. It says his occupation is Pet Shop Owner, nothing about Ulead. So what's the connection to Ulead that I'm missing :?

This forum has been operating successfully without a moderator for a long time and, IMHO, doesn't need one now. Peer pressure from our users has controlled the very few troublemakers that have appeared from time to time.

What the forum does need is some serious software development work to eliminate all the flakey, intermittent behavior such as Login problems (I had to enter my userID four times this evening), Time Out Errors, and having a userID invalidated after changing email servers.

I hope that the site admin (ArcAngel seems to be real) will focus on these technical problems and correct other functional deficiencies.

I may agree.. however... we need moderators to report most common bugs and problems being discussed here.

Previously, this forum is not keenly observed by Ulead but now with the presence of moderators, one of their functions is to report bugs and problems of Ulead software being encountered by the end users. These will be reported to both technical support and R&D.

And by doing this, Ulead will then attend to problems that need immediate attention.

We understand your concern, there have been major changes in the Ulead network connection, configurations, servers, IPs, etc. recently (which I may not be able to completely divulge the information). The process is not completely done.

These problems will be fixed soon.

I hope that the site admin (ArcAngel seems to be real) will focus on these technical problems and correct other functional deficiencies.

We will.

Thank you.

Personally, I like the idea of having a moderator for this and other forums. If the role of the moderator is to filter posts like "It doesn't work, why?" from posts with a real message, containing a proper description of what happens and the required system detail, for attention by the ULEAD technical team, it can only help to get things sorted.

Let's see how it goes.

In my past experience a Moderator was to “moderate.” To give guidance, technical assistance, or point an individual in a direction that solved a software issue. So are you saying that we get a “Monitor” rather than a Moderator? Meaning, we would not be able to rely on the Moderators technical expertise or guidance, just their presence?
