Problem with Prodad Rotopen
I have edited a map and a train image which is fine when applied and the preview works fine but as soon as I create the rendered video the path and the train image have moved to a position further down the map, and I have no idea how to see the path and train image in the right place. Are there any fixes???

Re: Problem with Prodad Rotopen
You will have to match the frame size and aspect ratio of the project properties with a share preset. If they don't match, the RotoPen path won't be where you expect it to be. By default the project properties are 720 x 480 with a 16:9 aspect ratio. There's a share for DV Widescreen which has the same properties. Unfortunately, once you have used Roto Pen with a particular set of properties, you can't change project settings without throwing the Roto Pen path off-track.
Having just the aspect ratio matching is not enough to keep the path on-track. The frame size needs be the same, probably with a few exceptions.
I would create a standalone HD project just for the RotoPen sequence, and share to a matching share preset. Use the resulting video file in your main project. That way the path won't be disturbed when you upscale or downscale relative to the project properties.

Re: Problem with Prodad Rotopen
Thanks. That cleared my mind. What are the parameters for a standalone hd project for rotopen and how have we to manage settings?

Hi franapo
Welcome to the forums
I think Kingston is referring to setting the project properties to match your video files frame size.
So if HD your video is probably 1920 x 1080
Video Studio by default uses standard definition sizes, however we can manually change by editing the project properties to Avi similar to:-
NTSC non-drop frame (30 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
8 bits, 1920 x 1080, 30 fps (use 25 for Pal)
Upper Field First
Microsoft Video 1
15 Key frame rate:, 75% Quality
PCM, 44.100 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
I am sure Kingston will clarify

Re: Problem with Prodad Rotopen
Hallo! Great! I started a new project setting avi 1920x1080. Then created a new video file blu-ray with my map rotopenned.
Inserted in my big video file and rendered. Great!
