Slow revealing of a 3D object - Line Graph

Post by POST »

I'm trying to do a 3d line graph that grows up and to the right. How would you have a line reveal or grow in this manner? The line isn't straight. It will vary angles as it grows. It's a line that shows sales far the last year, so you have your ups and downs.
Thanks.

I really do not know if this is a good method, what I could do is create the graph, impose a rectangular object with the same attributes as the background (e.g. green color) of the graph onto the front of it, so as your timeline moves, the rectangular object can be moved out of the way to display your graph behind it.

Of course exporting the graph to a video editor and using cookie cutter works the same way too.

Hope this helps

That might work or that gave me another idea of how I can try. Thanks.

We do have editing software. What do you mean by using cookie cutter?
Do you mean exporting the line seperate and doing a mask on it?

Yep a mask that you can cut a shape out. I normally export out some of my C3DPS stuff to video editors to get what I want.
C3DPS is a nice object animator, but let's face it, it does not do video clips \ sound clips nicely.

See a lot of people asking to insert audio clips somewhere into the timeline when I do the opposite, export as a video file and insert the audio into a video editor's timeline.
