It's working fine here with 1.2.0.7 and Kubuntu 12.4Screwdriver wrote:Installed the latest version and RAW Noise not working at all.

Awesome.....So glad it is working for everyone.
I uninstalled, reinstalled and it is not working. Using the RAW noise sliders makes zero change to the image and NN is nowhere to be found.

Why should a re-install change anything? This is neither religion nor magic.Screwdriver wrote:I uninstalled, reinstalled and it is not working.
Two different issues...Using the RAW noise sliders makes zero change to the image and NN is nowhere to be found.
Check a before/after image in multiview with raw noise. The effect can be rather subtle. And check the threshold slider both ways....
If NN is nowhere to be found, then the interesting question is, from when is your AfterShot license key and are you sure AS knows about it?

There is zero effect in RAW noise, no matter the slider position. Now if I open the image in PSP, noise reduction works.
A reinstall, after deleting the registry keys should make a clean install possible. No magic there.

I did not ask whether you have a key but from when....Screwdriver wrote:AS shows I have the valid key......
And what has PSP to do with AS? And how do you determine that there is no action? There is zero effect in RAW noise, no matter the slider position. Now if I open the image in PSP, noise reduction works.
Yup, no magic and no result. None of your user settings are touched at all when re-installing, therefore it is a totally useless action as I already mentioned.A reinstall, after deleting the registry keys should make a clean install possible. No magic there.

Re: Noise reduction not working.....
I see the same issues as Screwdriver. For me, it was a fresh install to take advantage of the 30 day trial. Everything about the application is intuitive, performance is good, however the noise reduction simply doesn't work. Moving either of the sliders in +ve or -ve direction has zero impact to the image, the amount of noise simply doesn't change. I note from another thread and this that everyone who is praising the application is running on Linux, so I wonder if this issue with noise reduction not working is specific to the Windows build. As I don't have noise ninja, and don't have a legacy installation, that's not something I can comment on however I was expecting the basic in built noise reduction to have at least some value. This is the only thing holding me back right now from purchasing the application, other than that, I think it's great.

There are two modules: "RAW Noise" and "Noise Ninja Registered"rawshooter wrote:I see the same issues as Screwdriver. For me, it was a fresh install to take advantage of the 30 day trial. If you zoom to max (800%) and in "RAW Noise" activate both "Raw Impulse Noise Removal" and "RAW Noise" and move both sliders to 100 (max), there is no difference?

Re: Noise reduction not working.....
Thanks for the reply. Actually, when viewing at 100% there's no visible difference at any setting, however zooming into the 200%~800% range it does start to show a very subtle application of noise reduction when sliding to 100 on RAW Noise. So I take back what I said earlier, it is doing something, but it's not really of any practical use.lundbech wrote:

Re: Noise reduction not working.....
Which means you would be a new licensee and therefore Noise Ninja will not be available to you as Picturecode did not renew the license for Corel.rawshooter wrote:I see the same issues as Screwdriver. For me, it was a fresh install to take advantage of the 30 day trial.
Rawnoise should be working though.
I am not sure, currently I have the feeling it is weaker than it was previously.
Works the same for me on Windows and Linux.I note from another thread and this that everyone who is praising the application is running on Linux, so I wonder if this issue with noise reduction not working is specific to the Windows build.
RAW Noise reduction is not a substitute for Noise Ninja. It is helpful for some specific forms of high ISO noise, especially pixel dust and messy subcompacts and should work.As I don't have noise ninja, and don't have a legacy installation, that's not something I can comment on however I was expecting the basic in built noise reduction to have at least some value.
For those not having access to Noise Ninja, the Wavelet Denoise Plugin can be an alternative, depending on image content.

Yes. same here. RAW Noise does not work to anything useful.rawshooter wrote:Thanks for the reply. Re: Noise reduction not working.....
Hi,
RAW Noise Reduction works her on Linux. I need to go on 200% on a D80 ISO 1600 Pic.
Maybe these two screenshots help:
Without
With
I can even see the differnce on a D7000 ISO 1000 Pic in the darker Parts @100%. Maybe a Bug but sometimes ASP dont refresh the Pic completly at 100 or 200%.
As far as i remember the ASP guys told, that its not an alternative for NN. Its working very early in the Pipe. Its very subtle like AFX wrote.
