AFP for Linux 64 installed fast and without any problems on my Kubuntu system. NN License works. And the support for the Ricoh GR makes me think hard about getting one ... well, I still have to wait until I can check the optional viewfinder.

Thanks Corel.

Have installed the new version, but there still is a problem if you use ztext / zshadow and zframe in the output batch. The process stops and the program locks up. Same problem as with the 2 previous versions :-( My plugin's is the latest versions from the website.

I will return to the version that works..... 1.0.1 :-(

Anyone know if it is possible to install this alongside older version in Windows so I can check out all the plugins I use before moving across -- I only have one Windows computer at the moment

RAW Support for FZ200 Now? NOT.

Post by jpmccormac »

The patches and Updates page at Corel says ASP now supports my Panasonic FZ200 RAW files (.RW2) but they don't appear in the file list after performing the update.

All the same, a technical examination of the binary shows:

Code: Select all

strings AfterShotPro | grep -i fz200
panasonicfz200.icc
PanasonicDMC-FZ200
?Panasonic DMC-FZ200 Linear (FZ200hVFATB_20X.RW2, ColorChecker)
Panasonic DMC-FZ200

Okay, but what does this mean - in plain English? I can right click on a .RW2 file in the Windows 7 file manager and select Open with ASP and it will open the RAW file, but they don't show up in the ASP file system.

What it means - I believe - is that despite the absence of the FZ200 in the release nots, this version can process the .RW2 files the FZ200 produces. You may reasonably ask me how I come to this conclusion? I would base my answer on the difference between the strings that contain "Sony DSLT <something>" in the old and new versions. At a guess, Aftershot looks recognises the camera you used by reference to the Manufacturer and Model strings in the raw file.

The FZ200 IS mentioned as being supported in the release notes on this page - http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... gid=800161

Thanks. I'll give it a try. In the meantime I'll stick with ACDSee Pro 6 which has no problem with the .RW2 files.
