I have been using PSP x3 for awhile with no issues, but about a month ago, it simply stopped working. I open the program via shortcut, and the logo blinks onscreen, but the program never opens. No explanation, no trace.
I have attempted to uninstall and re-install, but each attempt to uninstall completely freezes the PC dead and I end up having to physically turn the PC off. I'm detecting no infection on the PC.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: PSP X3 stopped working, freezes PC on Uninstall
I just tried to fire up PSP X3 and I'm having the same issue. I don't get anything at all. If I watch the Windows Task Manager it blips on for a second then without fanfare just blips back off. PSP X does the same. I also have PSP 9, X4, and X5 and those seem to work fine. I suspect there was a Windows update that messed something up.

I'm using WIN XP, but we're all describing the same problem. Mine is further complicated by the fact that I cannot uninstall the software.
Here's a question: Does Corel monitor this board, as to address the issue? Is it of any use to discuss this here amongst ourselves, or should I just be looking for different software, like some other company that takes an active interest in their customers' satisfaction?

In general NO - Corel does not monitor this board - there are very occasional visits from some members of development teams but they do not visit as a matter of routine.
In any case they would not be interested in X3 as it is now designated as an un-supported product - Corel only provide support for the current version X5 and the one previous - X4 - no Corel support at all now for X3.

Re: PSP X3 stopped working, freezes PC on Uninstall
I am using PSPX3 on XP Home SP3 fully updated. No problems here.
My PSP X3 is version 13.2.1.32.
Just checked with my Windows 7 Home premium and I get an upgrade to PSP X5 message window which I close and then PSPX3 opens normally . Version there is also the same.
I observe that the majority of Xp problems are those that have XP Pro.
The Win 7 version is the same as Df, but I am operating on a Toshiba Laptop with mine.
Will try and switch my main desktop over to Win 7 test X3, update and again check X3 to see if I can duplicate problem.

Re: PSP X3 stopped working, freezes PC on Uninstall
Still no solution? I downloaded trial of X5 - same identical problem. Glad I did this before buying. Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Vaio i7 quad core.
I've been waiting a long time for a solution and when I tried to do a 'chat' I was told to go here and find my solution.
I will upgrade my Adobe Photoshop Elements program instead. It has to be a compatibility issue with a Microsoft update that occurred a month or so ago. Corel is losing $ as I'm sure there are a number of others going to Adobe instead.

Re: PSP X3 stopped working, freezes PC on Uninstall
I am also using Win 7 Pro 64 bit and have no problems with X5. I wonder if some other program is interfering with PSP but don't know how to check that, other than to disable what is running and try again. I wonder if an anti-virus program could be interfering. Task Master shows lots of stuff running in the background.
