Video Studio Pro X6 - Screen Capture Will Not Work

Post by kevsim »

I am using Video Studio X6 trial and the Screen Capture feature does not work.
The capture window opens but the Capture Button is grayed out along with the Sound Source button.
I am running this on an XP SP3 system with -
4 GB memory
2.66 Ghz dual core processor
I would appreciate any information.
Is there any information available as to what requirements my system may not have?
All other programmes run OK on the computer.

Hi, I just saw your post, I am also using Video Studio Pro x6 Ultimate and I want to use the screen capture feature. I have tried it in standalone mode and also launched from the video editor and the result is the same. The screen capture program starts up but the red record button is not selectable, and I also cannot enable audio recording from the settings.

I have tried this now on a high end system and I get the same result. Its not a system requirement issue, it must be a settings issue in a config file. I have the Pro X6 ultimate so it is nothing to do with it being a trial either. This is all I know right now will see what else I can find out

Can anyone point me to a solution so I can use this

Many Thanks

regards

Hi Andrew

Just saw this post

Sorry you are having problems with the Screen Capture, and no I don’t remember this being raised before

The OP was using Windows XP and others Vista so don’t think it is an Operating System issue.
Did you install the program using Administrator rights?
I used both XP and now W7 without problems.

When you start Video Studio right click the icon and “Run as Administrator”

As a thought, are you using multiple monitors?

I really don’t know what to suggest other than re-installing the program, however I don’t think it will be an install issue for all of you

Hi

Right click the Recording tab window for Show Disconnected devices, there should be other options, maybe Stereo Mix
This may depend on your audio driver as to what is available.

I checked that the drivers for each of these were updated.
