yea, I like to investigate when following/quoting rules (because inevitably, things will change).

For instance, DV25 transfer for a long time was only through Firewire.

Then all of a sudden we started to see posts about people transferring DV25 via USB2. We say, that can't be, use firewire. Then it turns out that there are some camcorders/convertors now that come with software to allow the DV25 stream to transfer via USB2 :roll:

p.s. I'll repeat, I'm not saying that there is a difference between NTSC and PAL DV (regarding field order). I was only asking to confirm that there is not difference in reality (and maybe find out what might be causing the Auto-detect software to misread the source)

just to be polite I'll still answer the question: it's a PAL NV-GS50
the card is not a Matrox, a tight-budget Sweex

...and before someone asks, no there's nothing I found in the camera manual and on the Panasonic site that talks about field order...
I perused everything or so I thought.
