Good day,
Is there a way to transfer project folders and their respective thumbnail content (video, image, sound links) from Corel VideoStudio Pro x4 to the newly installed Ultimate x6?
Thanks!

X6 can open X4 projects natively. You just click File > Open Project and navigate to where the project vsp file is stored on your computer. Provided you have not moved (or deleted) any of the video clips in the project, the project should then open in the X6 timeline with all the thumbnails, titles, transitions etc intact.

If it is your actual libraries you want to transfer then in X4 you need to go "Settings >> Library Manger >> Export Library" - and save your library.
then in X6 go to "Settings >> Library Manager >> Import Library" and import the new library you just created.

Hi Brian
Sorry but as far as I know that option does not work between X4 and X6. Unless Corel have fixed with one of the update patches.
Corel changed the libraries structure that much that they were not compatible?
Not even sure it would work for X5 to X6 , need to test that, you would think it would work
I Think you may be able to copy/paste the VS_AllMediaView.dat file, don’t have the time to test that, maybe another file, but from past tests certainly one works.
We used to be able to copy the VS_Video.dat across but that now causes errors.
