Re: New Windows 8 patch for WinDVD out now
I would not recommend downloading this patch. I received "update now" notice for WinDVD 11 Pro. Reluctantly, I complied because Corel gets in your face with its update notice. It no longer plays Blu-ray disks. It will pick up things stored on the hard drive, but not disks. A disk will open the Corel Window, but just sits there unresponsive to the play icon. I uninstalled WinDVD. Then I had nothing. So I downloaded the free trial of WindDVDPro and it works, but what happens after 30 days? Do I have to buy the thing again? This is very frustrating. I spent way too much time trying to resolve this problem. I was very happy with the original purchase. It worked well for the better part of a year until this patch came along.
