VS Ultimate6 - Bonus Content troubles

I am having troubles with 2 of the Bonus/Extra Content packages: Bonus Content (first one that appears in the "Do More" screen) and Newblue TitlerFX
All others I have downloaded installed with no trouble at all but these two keep popping up After I close VS6 and attempt to install but give an error (only flashes) but reads:

Can not determine install directory of X5

I have never had X5, purchase nor trial, installed so I don't know why it keeps attempting to install there (as stated, all other content installed fine) and I don't know where to find the downloaded installs to get rid of them (however I would prefer to get them installed)

Any suggestions?

Immediately after the launch of X6 there were some issues with the X6 Do More providing some of the files for X5.
Obviously these won’t install and show the message regarding X5. (That's assuming you don't have X5)
I had thought that Corel had fixed all download issues and that the correct files were being provided.

I will download that file (Newblue TitlerFX) to see if I have any problems.

Ok update

First can you view X6 – FX library to see if “New Blue Titler EX” exists?

I had some issues downloading the file, eventually managed, the file is called NewBlueTitlerEx.exe at 42Kb
This file installs to both X5 and X6 programs and provides a shortcut via the Start-All Programs list -- NewBlue

All Do-More downloads save to this location:-
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads
Folder names are all numerical so difficult to identify. Try 1350939459910 to locate "NewBlueTitlerEx.exe"

The installed file is called Titler.vft and is found here:-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6\vft_plug
Do you see that file?

If you cannot locate some of the above make sure your Windows Explorer folders options are set to Show Hidden Files and Folders

So if you have the Titler installed and I suspect you may have, try moving the 1350939459910 folder out of the Downloads folder. Lets hope that stops the request to install to X5

Thank you lata, here is what I have found so far:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6\vft_plug
Do you see that file?
Answer: No

However I do see the Installer in: C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads

So I manually ran the installer and Now the file Titler.vtf is in the \vft_plug folder!

Now I will see if I can do the same with Bonus content (once I find it) then see if they stop trying to install when closing folder (without removing from C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads

New Question: Once the installer is installed, are these installers are required on the hard drive or can they be safely moved to a backup disk without effecting VS's stability?

Nope, they both keep trying to install.
However, I was able to stop one, it claims to be the X5 MENU PACK (sorry, previously I thought it said Bonus Pack for I have been trying to download that one to and now nothing happens when I click on it)

Also, the NewBlueTitler Pack still does not show as "Installed" the way the othes do. BUT the file is now in the PlugIn folder so I will have to find the tutorial I was following that lead me to the trouble and see if I can follow it through now...will get back but might not be right away

At least you are making progress, the available downloaded file types are very different in what they install and can be a little confusing.
a little explanation in what they are..

The Bonus Content ---thats new to X6 contains sample clips some from earlier versions of VS. -- Video , Images, Audio. The file will be installed to a folder here:-
C:\Users\user Name\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content
To use the clips you have to manually import into VS timeline or library.

The Menu Packs---Used to increase the available DVD Menu Templates when burning a disc, there are two files, one for Bluray/Avchd and the other for DVD templates, the gallery is automatically updated with the new templates.

NewBlueTitler Pack
That should now show in the FX library section, expand the ALL selection, the Titler should be at the bottom of the list

Title Packs

These increase the available templates within the Title library.
10 for each pack installed.

Font Packs---increase the available fonts to the Windows font folder, unless you are extremely observant you probably wont notice the difference, after all there are a lot of fonts installed on the pc.

And the remaining Do-More templates are associated with Instant Projects
Over 110 available, unfortunately we cannot view the effect until we download/install.
What I do…
Download the template and install.
A folder containing the files will be placed here:-
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate

When I re-boot Video Studio those files populate the library. I think the program should give you the choice.
If I move those folders to another folder, I called it “My VSP Templates”
Then starting VS does not use the templates nor populate the library, as I said there are over 110,
I am however able to open the associated VSP to view the template, if I like I simply move the folder to VSPTemplate. Re-booting VS will populate the library.

The download folder
I don’t see any reason why you cannot simple delete the rogue X5 files, that may stop the install request, it may however be a Message section that is causing that. Certainly should not affect the working of Video Studio, once the files are installed they are redundant. And backup the correct versions.

One question, how long have you owned VS, if recent did you go to Do-More within the first few runs of the program to download the files.?

And finally I wont be replying right away either, taking a 14 day vacation starting Sunday

Ok, still getting just the one install request now when closing VS; it does not announce its name or just what it wants to install..?? I when through ALL the installers on my hard drive and manually installed them again (36 in all). But that one still wants to install every time I close VS - "which one" is the hundred dollar question.

Like you say; it does not effect the operation of VS in any way...I think I will just take all 36 installers and remove them to see what happens....

As for your two last questions:
1) how long have you owned VS, if recent did you go to Do-More within the first few runs of the program to download the files.?
I just purchased VS on April 14th 2013. I only downloaded a couple Do-More the first run, a few more the next...not sure when I got the ones giving install issues..?

I had used previous OEM(?) version from Ulead that came with an old video camera from years ago but that has NOT been installed on this computer, this is a new computer as well which is why I have been a bit slow getting everything up and running. Again; NOTHING from the old program is on this system, I just brought that up so you know I am not 100% green (just 88.9%)

OK, That Did It!
I moved all the downloaded installs onto a ThumbDrive for safe keeping, now it does not nag me to keep installing the mystery one....good enough for now. I have a couple events coming up and need to get down to editing!

So when does New Blue Titler show up in the Do More menus?
I have been running X6 Ultimate for a couple of weeks now on a brand new WIN 8 machine I built and I would like to try Titler after seeing some tutorials online.
I had it on my old PC with X5 Ultimate but it is still yet to show up on X6.

At first I thought a W8 issue but I do not see Titler in the Do-More list anymore, X6 X5 , cannot check X4 as there is an internet connection problem--maybe looking in the wrong location. But does seem as though Corel have removed it?

The file for X6 is called NewBlueTitlerEx.exe at 48Mb

If you have downloaded before it will be here
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\
The folders have odd names, this is where I found my copy…
540230539_807001\1350939459910, but could be date related so your folders will have different names

If you cannot find and need a copy I can make it available, whether its compatible with W8 is another matter, just wonder why Corel have removed it.

I have X5 and X4 Ultimate on Disk and will load them on another WIN7 machine to avoid any possible issues on WIN8.
I'll see if titler shows up and tranfer it from there.
I guess Corel did not pay New Blue for the licensing or traded it for some new filters maybe.

For X6 its called NewBlueTitlerEx.exe
For X5 TitlerEx.exe
All are different sizes and clearly different files

You may be able to install on X5 then move the installed file to X6

I’ll send you a link to download the X6 version.

Pat I have just installed the NewBlueTitlerEx.exe and it installs to both X5 and X6 programs

Having problems with VS Ultimate X6. The ProDAD plugin does not appear in the program, Newblue is there.
Purchased as a download, 2 files VSX6_ultimate_PF and Positive_Vibe_Pack.
I'm I missing something?
