Hi all,
I've been using VideoStudio for many years, (from VS 4 through VS X5 Ultimate). So, I've been watching the web for a irresistible deal to upgrade to VS X6 Ultimate.
In anticipation of the arrival of that irresistible deal, I downloaded and installed VSX6_Pro_TBYB directly from Corel. I understand why there is no TBYB version of Ultimate as those premium features are part of the Bonus Pack that is reserved for paying customers.
I tested the TBYB program for a week and judged it worth the cost of an upgrade.
Yesterday, I received a promotion email from Corel that finally dropped the cost of the software below my target price, so I went ahead and bought a full X6 Ultimate Upgrade via Internet download.
I followed Corel's instructions to apply the VSX6 Serial Number to the TBYB software and I successfully registered/activated my copy without first uninstalling the TBYB. Then everything went smoothly with download and installation of "VSX6_Ultimate_Bonus".
Then I re-booted my PC before launching my newly registered VS X6 Ultimate for the first-time.
Now, my only minor concern is... When I launch the program, the splash screen shows my software as "Pro" and not "Ultimate". Likewise, when I go to the dropdown screen "About Corel VideoStudio X6", I see an image identifying the software as "Pro" Version #16.0.0.106.
Will that always be the case or will the software update itself eventually to show "Ultimate?"
Should I even be concerned that my software doesn't know it is "Ultimate" as long as the Bonus Pack has successfully installed?
THANKS in advance for straightening out this old man,
Bob
Have I Installed VSX6 "Pro" or "Ultimate?"

Minor UPDATE:
I've successfully applied the VSProX6_SP1.exe update.
Now my "About Corel VideoStudio X6" screen shows Version 16.1.0.45, but the graphic still indicates my software is "VSX6 Pro."

Re: Have I Installed VSX6 "Pro" or "Ultimate?"
As far as we are aware there is no difference at all between the Pro and the Pro Ultimate versions of VideoStudio other than when you purchase the Ultimate you also get the Ultimate Bonus pack.
If you have the Pro version installed you can then install the Ultimate bonus Pack and it integrates with VS thus giving you an Ultimate version.
i do not think you have any cause for worry - you paid for the Pro Ultimate version and if all the bonus pack also installed then you have the Ultimate version - whatever the splash screen says.

And for what it's worth, I have exactly the same set up... In other words, I know I definitely have the Ultimate bonus pack installed and working well, yet still get the Pro splash screens. And nothing changed with the SP1 update apart from the version number. So don't worry... Just make sure you can see all the bonus features and assure yourself that they work.

Hi
Did Corel provide you with a download link for Video Studio, if yes that may be the ultimate, Go to your Corel account to check for downloads
but as the guys say the two versions are identical except for the additional Ultimate Pack, which if I remember is quite large 1.4 Gb ish.
OPh and the splash screen will be blue for the ultimate.

Re: Have I Installed VSX6 "Pro" or "Ultimate?"
.
Many, many thanks Brian, Ken & Trevor.
I will no longer be concerned that my Ultimate installation continues to display the Pro splash screen from the TBYB installation.
Yes... I went ahead and followed the link that Corel provided me to download the main installer file. I'll save that file in a secure place along with the Bonus Pack installer file and the SP-1 in case my hard disk should ever crash.
If I felt I really needed to see the Ultimate splash screen, I would completely uninstall the current VSX6 from my PC and then re-install everything using that main installer file.
(Please pardon my original message when I mistakenly made reference to "X7". I was certainly jumping the gun!)
Gratefully,
Bob
