Lost audio after rendering

Post by pyramiid »

I use VS ver 10.0 and during working on a project there were no problems. I use different files (audio and video) and after rendering lost some mpg audio files. Video is still there but audio is muted. wma and one mpg files works fine.

Project properties:
PAL (25 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-PAL), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

wma file properties (works fine after rendering):

mpg files, different ones (works fine after rendering):

mpg files (do not work, muted):

Is it possible to save them (muted audio)?
Thank you!

One difference I do notice is that the files which you say are muted do in fact have Dolby Digital sound - does the device you are playing them in have the capability to play Dolby digital.

can you try rendering the video with a different audio stream - for instance mpeg audio like the other files.

I do not have any audio (in particular mpg audio tracks) in VS file also. Does this work if I try rendering this muted file once again, with different audio stream?

Still no luck!
Tried to rendering with different stream (mpeg, wma, real audio) but the audio is missing in some places.
I think some of the files are corrupted or something.
Is it possible to save them or do I need to edit my project again (4 days work)?

can you hear the audio in ALL of your files in VideoStudio before you render them - before you edit them even.

When you edit in VideoStudio you never ever change your original file so that is still on your computer exactly as you transferred it there - do all of the original files play with full audio.

If it is just after you render them that you lose the sound you have an incorrect setting somewhere in the 'create video file' option - as I said before the only file you say does not have audio has Dolby Digital sound - does your system support playing Dolby Digital.

Yes, all of my files with audio worked correctly in VS (during editing) before rendering.
I´m not sure about dolby digital playback in my laptop (Dell Vostro 1320).
My main question remains the same - is it possible to recover these muted audio files somehow or do I need to start over my project? Original files are ok and they work fine with audio and itc.

Tried to edit one file again in VS, replaced it and it´s muted in VS. Same problem. But if I watch this file directly in BS player for instance it´s working fine, with audio.
I think the problem is somewhere inside VS program, but where?
