If the title is in the main timeline, the easiest way is to do either a fade in or out from black or crossfade. The fade in/out is done by inserting a black colour panel before/after the title, then inserting a crossfade transition between the black and the title, one at either end. Or if you want the title to fade in from a preceding video clip or into the following video clip, then just insert the crossfade transitions before and after the title.

The black (or other colour) panels are found when you click on the icon that looks like a little flower in the vertical list of icons to the immediate right of the preview screen.

If the title is in an overlay track, you can insert a crossfade transition over the title clip at either end -- though this will also affect the video in the main timeline over which is is laid.
