Normalise Audio
I have recently put a lot of old projects together into a singe project and find that the audio is not consistent across all of the new project. Do people recommend using the Normalise Audio feature, or is it better to go through and do all of the adjustment manually?

Re: Normalise Audio
Do a search for the word "normalize" and you will get several hits on the subject. Here is my response to someone else about trying to match volume among clips.

Re: Normalise Audio
I used the normalise on burning a DVD. It seemed to level all the audio tracks so the sounds that I had adjusted (background music, steam train and voice over) to the same level so messing up the final audio track. I burnt a second DVD without normalising and it seemed better on the final sound.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Normalise Audio
Thanks to Terfyn and Kingston who replied. I did not explain the situation completely because I too have three audio tracks: that on the original clip which I have modified as necessary when I add a voiceover and/or music track. I suspected that the software would not be smart enough to balance all of the tracks, but hoped to find out before going through the whole process and time of trying it out! I guess that I'll just have to go through again and balance the whole project manually. I thought that I had done that successfully previously but the finalised DVD proved that I hadn't!
