Post by roylefamily »

Video Studeo Pro X3 crashes when starting to render. This forum will not let me upload the .DMP file. What should I do to get assistance?

There is no point in uploading the dump file anyway, since no one here understands them. None of us are Corel employees, just users who volunteer their time to try to help others.

First of all, though, you need to tell us the format of the video in the project you were trying to render -- right click on one of the clips in the timeline and copy ALL its Properties here, please, or post a screen shot of the Properties box. Do the same if there is a variety of formats involved.

And also tell us what format you were trying to render to.

Some idea of your computer specs would also be useful...

Hi,

OK, Pro X3 13.6.2.21
Vista Home Basic 32 bit all up to date.
Quad CPU Q9300 2.5GHz, 4G Ram

Used Pro x 3 to do AVCHD projects with no problems for several years. Haven't used it for about a year. I use AVCHD from a Panasonic hdc-sd5.

The software worked fine. Now it crashes on trying to render to avchd file. Projects that used to render fine now crash. It will render ok to dvd, bluray or DV file.

I have enough disc space. I wonder if this has happened to other X3 users in the last year or so. My projects typically have little rendering as I am aiming for AVCHD on DVD-R. Only the titles and fades are re-rendered. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I have done some experimentation. Two clips on the time line with no effects render to full HD avchd file. With a tittle it crashes. So as long as no rendering is done it works :(

Can this be caused by windows or direct X updates? Direct X was updated to get a game going.

In addition. It seems to actually start rendering and crashes at a random point in to the job. For instance in my last experiment I had two clips on the time line and one tittle that ended half way through the second clip. It rendered through to 74% when it crashed.

Fixed it!

I had changed the video card since last using the software. When I turned off hardware acceleration X3 came good.
