Ok I downloaded the VS6 trial version and I'm trying to open a .mov file. However, when I try to set the associate a file type and set VS6 to open them, I can't find VS 6 at all, even when I try to open any video file type with it. Which is weird, because I can open the VS6 program...I just can't use it because I can't get windows to find it as a selection to open video files. I've never seen this before. I can use Photoshop and everything else but windows can't find any corel programs.
So actually, VS6 is totally useless to me since I can't open any files with it.
Can someone help me figure this out please. I have windows 8.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Windows can't find Corel Video Studio VS6 trial version
The usual way of opening files for editing in VS is to first open VS and then use one of the internal commands to "Insert media" -- video, photo etc -- into the timeline or library window. So it is hardly true to say the program is useless to you if this method works.
Mind you, I can't explain why Windows can't see VS in the file association window...

Re: Windows can't find Corel Video Studio VS6 trial version
Thanks, Ken.
I found that out after playing around with the program to find out how to get the videos into it. I don't know why windows can't see the program in the file associations either. I guess I won't try to find out anymore since it would just take a lot of time.
Thanks again for your answer.
