Keyword bug (think I know why)

Post by spett »

Hi all!

Just bought AfterShot Pro yesterday, really getting to like this!
But I found a very annoying bug, after some searching I think I'm not the first one to find this but I have not found any solution online.

Sometimes when removing keywords from pictures, the pictures still appear under the old keyword in the "metadata browser -> keywords". And I found out why! ( I think :P )
Because this only happens (for me atleast) if I click 2 or more times on the same keyword in the "keyword set" window. Everytime the same keyword is clicked a new reference is added to the meta database (found in the catalog folder).
But when the same keyword is removed, only one reference to the keyword is removed and therefore the metadata browser still thinks this keyword applies.

This should be easy to fix. Adding a check if the keyword is already set when clicking a keyword should fix this annnoying bug.

If I'm unclear on something please ask!

You're absolutely right, it turns out. It's fairly easy to verify too. And I've used the solution to clean up *some* of my issues.

The solution that works is to 'ctrl-click' on the keyword set item that you believe has an extra count on it. If you got it right, it removes it from the window and success is yours!

The trick is finding the right reference some of the time. If you have a parent reference (say "Todo") and child references (say "print", "sort", etc), then it can be a challenge to find the right reference that is still present when looking in the parent "Todo" category if you have a lot of child items.

To reproduce the bug, though, simply click on a keyword in the keyword sets box twice. Then, search for it in the library browser and verify that if you either erase it by hand or ctrl-click on it that it doesn't go away from the presented results. However, even though the keywords box doesn't have it, you can ctrl-click on it again to get it to go away.

Awesome thinking, as the solution above has definitely helped me do some clean up. Though I still have a few confusing images I can't figure out how they're improperly double tagged.
