Hi,
I'm still using Bibble5 Pro on Linux, but I already purchased an ASP license long time ago. Now I tried to read about migration from Bibble to ASP, but only found little information.
My first question is regarding catalog migration. In the kickstart guide I read "ASP no longer supports copying files into catalogs. It only supports referenced files.". I don't know how exactly the catalog type I use in Bibble is called, but it involves an import of files which copies the files into a catalog subdirectory, so I guess this is not supported by ASP. How would I migrate this catalog to ASP?
How to migrate Bibble 5 Pro catalogs to ASP?

Hardly remember all the differences about the catalogs you mentioned in your post.
If I'd have to move my files from B5 to ASP again, I'd first make sure, that I have all the plugins used in B5 also in ASP. If so, just select all of your files, go to "write B5 xmp files" and then in ASP you can just import the root folder with all of your files to a new catalog. All of your edits, keywords etc. will be there. The only thing lost will be the history (of your edits).

Thanks. I'll try this with a small test catalog first.

Oh, I just read that ASP is dead. Seems like I should rather try to migrate my catalog to Darktable instead.

Re: How to migrate Bibble 5 Pro catalogs to ASP?
It is easier to just make a new catalog as it is relatively quick. I have 65000+ image in my recent catalog and another 55000 in an old (taken more than 5 years ago) catalog.
It took LR5 about three hours to recatalog all these again as I always write out the keywords and ratings in standard XMP files. I guess to recatalog in ASP will take a similar time.

Still learning after all these years!
