Opacity fault - Patch needed

Post by Phil »

Hi

I'm working on a project and need a problem sorted.

I'm using Picture in Picture (PIP) in VSP x6 Ultimate. Black background in timeline with video clip in track underneath (as I'll putting text around the clip)

When customising the PIP (new window opens), I want the image to have a reflection underneath. Within the reflection control area, I'm setting the opacity and I can see the result in the preview screen within the opened window.

HOWEVER, the opacity instruction is not being carried forward to the main timeline preview screen. I've tested a render despite not seeing the desired opacity but VSP gives a full 100% reflection.

Help!

Hi Phil

Not sure exactly how you are removing the background/surround colour black.
You have to apply the Chroma Key as well as the P-in P.

Double click the clip in the overlay track.
Choose Attributes tab
Mask & Chroma Key
Apply Overlay Options
Type as Mask Frame.
Choose the full frame, the white panel adjacent to the chequer board one.
10 down left hand column I think.
This will remove the background of the clip in the overlay track.

Now apply P-in-P to the clip.

Does that help.?

If not then create a project using samples from the library, V01 will do fine.
Apply the P-in P
Save the project and zip
Attach the Zipped file to your post, we should be able to upload and open your project.

Sorted.

Applying the Full Frame Mask was the key.

Cheers
