Flood Fill with own colour
When I want to flood fill -say a cloudy sky with blue, is it possible to use my own colour-that is an image taken of a blue sky instead of using one of the options shown after clicking to get the default colour choices in PSPro X

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
Select eyedropper tool and left or right click on the area of sky on your second image. You can then flood fill with this color. You may have to select the area of cloudy blue sky that you want to flood fill.
Or you could replace the cloudy sky with a totally different sky.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
You may want to try color changer instead of flood fill for a more realistic look. Watch out for the tolerance setting.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
Thanks for the replies
This is what I did :-
Dropper Tool To change colour
1 Open 2nd Image 1 with colour to use in it
2 Select dropper tool
3 Position cursor on colour wanted
4 Click on foreground ( or Right click for background)
5 Foreground box changes to colour that was left clicked on
6 Selected flood fill tool
7 Clicked on the cloudy sky
8 Changed most of the clouds to blue but a lot of cloud still there
9 In creased Tolerance from 20 to 50 which then covered most of the
cloud.
10 Still lots of white speckles so I used the clone tool to make sky 100% blue
Your comments on this will be appreciated.
Cant find the colour changer.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
Color Changer is under Flood Fill tool.
If you are getting lots of dots then may need to change tolerance up to 100 or so.
If it then starts to bleed into unwanted areas, may need to make a freehand selection to limit the areas that get flooded further.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
You will need to click on the little arrow next to the Flood Fill tool to see the Color Changer tool. Any time you see an arrow next to a tool that means there are other tools nested below the visible tool. Here's a visual.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
As mentioned above, I am using PSPro X and there is no choice for the colour changer or any drop down arrow next to the flood fill tool that I can see

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
I believe the Color Replacer was introduced in PSP9. So it's in there somewhere.
According to one of my PSPX books it should be on the main toolbar. If you don't see the Color Changer then you should be able to add it from the list of available tools.
Go to the View menu and select View -> Customize.
Under the first tab "Commands" you will see two lists. The one on the left or the first list, is the category, select "Tools" from this list.
The available tools will populate the second list on the right. Look for "Color Changer" in the list. It should hopefully be organized alphabetically so it should be easy to spot.
Click and drag it from right onto the toolbar and it should make the tool available to you.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
The Color Replacer and the Color Changer are two different tools. The Color Replacer has been around since at least as far back as PSP5. The Color Changer appeared sometime after PSP9. It's there in X2 but I don't know about PSP10 or 11.

Re: Flood Fill with own colour
X1 is probably when it was introduced.
Darnit, not sure where I got PSP9 from though I could have sworn that was the box I had seen it on.
I do apologize. Also in the book I was reading I don't know if it's a typo or a title but they were talking about the Color Replacer tool under the heading of Color Changer. So PSPX does not have this amazing tool. Sorry.
