Problems with audio

Post by Terfyn »

I am using X6. When I tried to launch a music track from "Smartsound", (from the owned section) the "Add to Timeline" was greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

I Split the Audio from the video and it landed in the VoiceOver track. Is it possible to make it land in one of the music tracks?

Is it possible to alter the volume across all the clips on the timeline without having to alter each clip separately?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Well, since we don't know what you might have been doing right, it's difficult to say... But did you make any adjustments to the length of the clip before you tried to insert it in VS?
Is it possible to make it land in one of the music tracks?
I don't think you can change a setting to do this automatically. But can't you just drag it from the Voice track to the music track?
Is it possible to alter the volume across all the clips on the timeline without having to alter each clip separately?
I don't think so -- though others will have comments on this. But from my own point of view, at least, it could be dangerous to have this ability, particularly if the various clips have different levels of original audio. Changing all the levels at once would thus not alter the volume levels of individual clips relative to the others, which surely is the objective when editing audio levels...

All the adjustments were made in VS before I tried to apply the smartsound.

Dragging one clip is OK but dragging 62 clips and lining them up is a different matter.

Again if you want to reduce the volume over 62 clips - in most cases but not all - to zero, it takes time and a steady hand.

Hi

You can Mute –reduce volume to zero-- all clips by using the Copy and Paste attributes option.

Mute the first clip then Copy and Paste to all clips. Shift + Click to select all clips

You cannot Copy and Paste volume % levels
