play list issue

Post by dannyp »

Hi All

First I'll describe the DVD's layout and the issue wil be presented after:

The DVD contains of 28 short clips(3 to 4 Min. each)
There is a main manu and a sub menu
The main menu contains 11 clips and a button that directs to the sub menu.
The sub menu contains 17 clips and a button that directs back to to the main menu.

Clip #1 has a playlist containing all 28 clips which means that after
clip #11(which belongs to the main menu) comes clip #12 (which is the
first clip on the sub menu). BTW, all other clips do not have a playlist and I know that playing any other clip other than clip #1 will end up in the menu the clip belongs to.

And now to my question:
When playing the DVD,and clip #11 ends, the main menu appears
Instead of clip #12 which is in the playlist of Clip #1.
How can I make all clips play one following the other regardless of the number of menus I have in a particular authored DVD?
thanks
Danny
P.S
I am using DVD Workshop Ver 2.231

Clip #1 has a playlist containing all 28 clips... BTW, all other clips do not have a playlist...
Hmmm... :?: The playlist itself should be linked to a menu button, not a "clip". Then, the playlist contains a list of titles and/or chapters.

like this:
Button->Playlist->Title(s) or Title/Chapter

The playlist can start at a chapter (in the middle of a title) or at the beginning of at title. However, the playlist cannot stop (and come back to the playlist) at the end of a chapter. Control won't return to the playlist 'till you get to the end of the title.

Assuming that each "clip" is a separate title... If you want to play all 28 clips, you need a playlist with all 28 titles on it. And, you need a menu-button that points-to that playlist.

From your answer I am starting to get the logic behind DVD Authoring
