unable to view burnt dvd
In the past I was able to download a slideshow of photos that was burnt to a dvd and play it on the TV with the use of the dvd player.
I have upgraded to windows 7 home premium
I have purchased VIDEO STUDIO PRO 5 X
I have burnt a DVD-RW and watched it on my computer but it will not work on the DVD player or TV.
I have tried to search for answers and am confused as ever. Should I be able to do this with my VIDEO STUDIO X5? do I have to buy more software--CAN anyone help me.
I am not having any success on playing my videos on anything but my computer.

Re: unable to view burnt dvd
The fact that you can play them on your computer but not a DVD player suggests that you either did not format the -RW disc correctly - or more likely did not "Close" it after burning to make it playable anywhere.
If you do not know how to close a -RW disc why not try burning a standard DVD-R and see if that plays.

Exactly how did you "burn" the slideshow to the DVD? Does your DVD contain the Video_TS folder and the required ifo, bup and vob files in that folder?
Some DVD players do not play RW DVDs. Do you get an error message from the DVD player?
What exactly did you do here: "download a slideshow of photos that was burnt to a dvd and play it on the TV with the use of the dvd player"?

Re: unable to view burnt dvd
I have never had to "format a RW DVD (unless to mean Erase). Also I have never had to "Close" a RW video DVD to make it playable, I always thought this was done automatically by the burning program when burning video DVDs.BrianCee wrote:The fact that you can play them on your computer but not a DVD player suggests that you either did not format the -RW disc correctly - or more likely did not "Close" it after burning to make it playable anywhere.

One of the options in the Create disc module provides for formatting an RW disc - see below
And the second attachment shows information from Windows about closing discs - it is possible that as bendgee has just upgraded his operating system that the boxes are not ticked in the new operating system.

Hi Bendgee
Are you sure your DVD Player is capable of playing DVD-RW type discs.
Not all players support RW discs.

So do you or do you not have a DVD-RW burner? What is the make/model?

Re: unable to view burnt dvd
Hi Guys
Bendgee does not seem to have a problem in burning the disc, but in playing on the TV as his first post stated.
He does not mention any errors during the burn process
I would think the problem is the DVD Player, not all support RW playback?
