Orange Time Line too short for project

Post by smithgt »

Hi,

I've just upgraded to X6.

My first project is just 2m 3secs long. The top video track has 2m 28secs of video, and the a still photo help in place for 3 seconds.

However the orange timeline stop before the final clip (still photo) so when I render/share the project this last slide isn't included.

Any ideas why this is happening, or how I can change the project duration?

thanks

If you look at the white line immediately under the preview window you will see that it has two little orange sliders under it - with your mouse cursor slide the right hand one to the very right end and make sure the left one is at the very left end and your orange line should disappear and the full project should play.

the orange line indicates that you (maybe accidentally) selected just a portion of the video to play by using the "mark in" - "mark out" controls.

Thanks for the reply, but my final clip is still outside the orange line.

The movie is made up of a title slide, several clips, and then a final still photograph.

The orange line stops at the end of the video clips, but doesn't encompass the final still photograph. If I add another video clip after then this isn't in the orange line either :-(

It's like Ive set the max movie length to 2m35secs when it should be 2m38secs!!

Any ideas?

Hi

Please view this site, gives details of controlling the bar immediately below the preview screen
Read the first section then the second section refers to the Project Playback Range and the RED or Orange bar

http://lata.me.uk/corel/bluebar/blue_bar.htm

Using the Home and End move the curser accurately to the ends.
Using the Mark-In(F3) or Mark-Out(F4) to select/remove the range

As a side note:-

From Preferences changing the display mode to thumbnail only will show your video frames in full,

First you need to change to "Project" mode by selecting the word "Project" under the left corner of the preview screen - I can see you have not done that as your image is shown highlighted in your attachment.

Now look just under the preview screen at a WHITE bar (sorry Trevor talks about a blue bar in the tutorial he linked to which is quite confusing) now look under the right hand end of the WHITE line at a little orange slider - using your mouse move that to the right just as far as it will go - you should see the orange line extend as you do.

Please see my attachment below and confirm that when in PROJECT mode that orange slider is at the right hand end of the line.

Well yes Brian it can be confusing when Corel change the colour scheme.
For the Project Playback Range yes it is now white. The actual range has changed from Red to Orange
However the bar is multifunctional and when editing on the lower tracks, overlay and Titles does take on a bluish hue. Mind you we are now in Clip mode, suppose that the difference.

I will update the web page in the near future

Thanks - I didn't spot that project/clip option.

All sorted now :-)
