I presume your printers and other peripherals are USB connected. I would try removing all physical connections except the printer that I want to use. (scanners, other hard drives) . Set that printer as your default.
Open X5, disconnect your printer and then reconnect it, then try and print . If it does not work, try another USB port .
If still does not work then over to Corel.
My X5 prints OK on a Canon IP3600 printer under Windows XP.

I have just one word to describe you, it's Genius.
I unplugged all of my USB stuff and suddenly print layout worked and my entire list of printers showed up and it showed up everywhere else it's suppose to.
I plugged one Epson printer in and made a beautiful little 4x6. I plugged the other printers in and they worked also.
Thank You Very Much !

Re: Paint Shop Pro X5 New User Questions
I know from past experience that sometimes there can be some conflicts with the USB ports. I was just following advice from some other computer service guys.. If something is going wrong take your system back to the simplest possible operating system. Going into safe mode does a similar thing. That way as you add new peripherals / programs you can then sometimes identify what may be causing the problem.
Glad I was able to help. I love this program!!!

Re: Paint Shop Pro X5 New User Questions
To my new friends on this thread
,
I have a new question for all of you who have been helping me.
To review/update:
I have a D800 and love it.
I have a computer with the following specs...
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550
8GB DDR2-800 MHz Dual Channel SDram4 x 2048
My Corel PSP5 does copies/pastes for layers very slowly and sometimes even seems to lock up.
I'm waiting to hear back about the "case" I submitted to Correl regarding the speed and locking up.
I want the new LR5, which will not work on Vista. (The beta version did.
)
I'm considering buying a new computer with the following specs...
Operating system: Windows 8 64
Processor: 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 quad-core processor[3.4GHz,8MB Shared Cache]
Graphics card: 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 645[DX11,DVI,DP,HDMI,DVI to VGA Dongle]
Memory: 16GB DDR3-1600MHz [2 DIMM ]
Hard drive : 2TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
Secondary Hard Drive : 1TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
I need to stick with a PC because I'm a pretty "old horse" that doesn't want to learn more tricks than I have to learn.
HERE'S THE QUESTION: Do the above specs seem pretty good for PSP5 and most any other photography things I would do as an amateur?
I would go bonkers if I bought the computer and still had issues with PSP5 or found some other inadequacy.
Thank You for Your help.
EDIT: Here is basically what I wound up doing.I got help from Corel Support via a Case # / emails. The advice got things working much better. The procedure I was given turned off lots of things that apparently slow my computer down and use RAM, but, I've never noticed it being slow. For instance after the procedure none of my keyboard buttons work, my extra mouse buttons don't work, and the list I saw showed lots of other things, many of which I didn't recognize that had been turned off.
Since there were still various auto saves in PSP5 that took lots of time and since I want the new LR5, I've decided to go ahead with the purchase of a new computer. Here are the specs:
• Windows 8 64
• 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 quad-core processor[3.4GHz,8MB Shared Cache]
• 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7670 [DVI, DP,HDMI, VGA via Adapter; DX11]
• 16GB DDR3-1600MHz [2 DIMM ]
• 256GB Solid state main drive
• 1TB 7200 RPM SATA secondary Hard Drive
• SuperMulti DVD Burner
• 15-in-1 Card reader, 2 USB3.0(top), 4 USB 2.0(front)
• 460W Power supply
Thanks again to everybody for helping me.
